OP

Who do you want in that's available ?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Managers are always available aren't they? No window for them and as far as I understand they can resign/be bought out
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Pep it is then
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He won't come though, it would be a huge step down.
Just like a free transfer the manager has to want to move...

However, no doubt plenty of managers would jump at the chance
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So managers arnt always available
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Offer him a billion a year and he'd probably come

What I clearly meant is you'd have your pick of managers with very few off the table given the resources

Unlike players who literally aren't available when the window is closed
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You are clearly talking bolx

My original question was aimed at the op and with huge thought he answered Poch or anybody else
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes, my main original post was just about dumping Solksjaer, I couldn’t care less who comes in. The most important thing is that he’s fired and it should happen this international break.

Also I just prey we don’t end up in the Europa League again next season, whatever it takes.

t’s clear OGS is not up to the job imo.

But the problems are a lot deeper than the managerial position at United. No matter who comes in, I can’t see them improving until serious money is invested on the right players. Similar situation at Spurs.

++

and at Arsenal .

But United's situation gets the attention because we are are Man United
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Eh no Arsenal’s situation is different because a better manager would clearly improve the performances immediately

Robb so its the managers fault we got a keeper conceding goals for 7 league games straight more than expected and we got strikers scoring less goals than expected for 7 league games straight in away games.

In those 7 away league games we have like title winning stats so you can’t say we are playing garbage. The only thing Solskjaer can do is drop Rashford and even Greenwood and start trying defenders in attack.

Not at all. Which managers aren't available for the sort of money you'd offer?

Pep, Klopp, Zidane and maybe a few others.

You just ruled out pep for reasons other than money

What is Solskjaer supposed to do. Honestly think Solskjaer would have scored 14 more goals with the chances we missed in those last 7 league away games than what our players have missed.

Just to show how bad Man Utd are. Man Utd 31 shots and incredible amount of clear chances created=1 goal against Rochdale. 5 shots for Rochdale=1 goal.

Peterborough United 14 shots 6 goals. Rochdale 9 shots 0 goals.

Rochdale 10 shots 0 goals next game after we played on them vs 6 shots against 3 goals conceded against Wycombe. Teams in Rochdale own league make our side look like the most wasteful team in history.

I see we still have a few fans that think that if we keep rotating the manager, sooner or later we will find one that has a magic wand to sort out all our problems in one season.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Who’s talking about ‘one season’

All we ask for is a capable manager who can maybe just maybe do better with what he has than our incapable manager
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You and the OP, for starters.

You want him sacked after half a season.

The whole point is that you STILL think a manager should come in and magically solve problems instantly. Ole has done well to ship off some deadwood and purchased three good players that will be here for a long time (no desires for Real/PSG etc).

The sad thing is, Robb, and literally everyone on the website knows this, is that if someone who you'd backed had made this start to the season... You'd be backing them to the hilt and fully understanding of the job at hand. It's got pretty embarrassing.

No manager is coming in and shining with the squad we have

The biggest problem is the pitiful midfield and poor transfer window overall with bringing in what we needed

I really doubt Ole is content with our midfield options

Nothing will change until the clubs approach off the pitch changes... Regardless of who is in charge... Lvg and jose failing should prove that

A few people at the time stated letting Lukaku go and not replacing him with a proven goalscorer would be a big mistake
We’re now finding this to be the case, not that there aren’t other problems with the squad that will take a couple of windows to address

The worst thing about Solskjaer being manager is that it just shows a total disrespect from the club towards supporters. It basically says "we'll appoint him and no matter how out of his depth he is, these idiots will lap it up as he's a club legend." It's manipulative and sums up the attitude of those at the top of the club.

posted on 6/10/19

With the Structure of the club as it is off the pitch, its not set up for success. It's a recipe for disaster. If we want to get rid of Ole, we need to hire someone who will carry on, and improve on what he has done so far. I doubt Ed would have that in mind when hiring the next guy.

We've even stopped looking for a Technical Director as no one with a reputation wanted to take a post that would be a step backward in their career nor did Ed seriously look into appointing one.

The eccentric, though great, Brian Clough won two European cups with a psycho Scottish centre half, a chap called McGovern who I never saw do anything good, and rag, tag and bobtail.
However Cloughie knew the eternal verities of football, so he paid a record fee for a goalie to stop the other side scoring.
Then another record fee for a striker to make sure his side did;
It worked,
Forest 1, Malmo 0. Shilts kept the clean sheet, Francis got the winner.
We,ve only got the goalie.
