I am similar in that I am a long time lurker and someone who has been put off registering due to the abuse and bullying on the site
I see that you are a celtic fan though so no doubt the two main protagonists (Magnum and POV) will not be pulling you up and constantly asking what your previous username was as that only seems to matter when it is a rangers poster
The two afformentioned ‘posters’ have IMO virtually killed the site and as well as chasing away many existing posters have also succeeded in making sure new posters are not made welcome and give up posting
Well done POV and Magnum
I also have to say though that the blame does not solely rely on those two posters, it also lies with the posters who condone their posting ‘style’ by not calling it out for what it is.Magnum especially gets a very easy time of it on here solely because he is a Celtic fan who goes to nights out
There are many, many decent Celtic posters on these boards but even many of these have been chased away by the bullying. It would seem JFK is the latest Celtic poster to be put off posting and even Ivan has now been driven off
Perhaps if more posters put their night out / team allegiances to one side and called out the posters for what they really are then the site could get back to what it once was

Fair play for having your say mystery poster with no name.
No surprise to say I agree with a lot of what you say.
I personally would veer away from naming the posters who you see are the main culprits because frankly I think they enjoy the notoriety.
One of them seems particularly keen for me to filter him - and has urged me to do it on more than one occasion. He seems to see filtering as some sort of validation or badge of honour - like confirmation that we cant handle his mighty come backs on here.
The reality is he just looks like a bit of a clown to me and every invite to filter him has me rolling my eyes and chuckling at him rather than cowering like he seems to want.
One of the biggest things for me is definitely how a certain group of Celtic supporters all pile on together to give a Rangers posters a verbal kicking - most often when they have had a pop back at one of the gang.
And there is no balance to it. There have been several occasions where I have been accused of something but then clearly shown I didn't say or do what was being claimed. And after the good old boys have gone to town on me not a single one of the usual suspects held there hand up and said 'well Hamish has a bit of a point here - he didn't actually say that bhoys'.
It is all one way. Attack, attack, attack then......disappear without a trace when offering some kind words as an act of contrition would be more appropriate.
It really isn't much more than bullying to be really honest.
It doesn't bother me to the point where I am going to do a bleeding heart documentary with Megan Markle about it - but it is pretty tiresome and does make you less inclined to post.
Sadly I am finding myself exercising my democratic right to vote with my fingers more and more often these days and participate less and less.
I used to love the footy chat on here despite never being a major poster. But sadly it is the exception rather than the rule that there is a decent footy thread.
Oh - and whilst I am on it - I also kind of agreed with the guy who got slaughtered for slagging off the gay shex chat.
I don't really get it either - its all essentially the same joke and that makes it tediously boring. Those types of jokes were kind of a thing when you were about fifteen and people felt the need to make these jokes to make a show of confirming their own heterosexuality.
You know - only really really straight guys are secure enough in their manhood to make jokes about bumming kinda thing.....

I would read the old 606 and kept up with it here too for years before finally registering. I decided it was time I added my own comments and have done recently. My only critique would be the site is not set up for new user. There’s no user instructions so a new user can be left unsure how to create articles etc. The banned words are another mystery for any new poster. Unless you read posts regularly it will seem a bit strange. Posting on here is a little like relearning English at times. I enjoy the banter. It’s usually well-meant and entertaining most of the time. Pity more don’t post really.

I am similar in that I am a long time lurker and someone who has been put off registering due to the abuse and bullying on the site
I see that you are a celtic fan though so no doubt the two main protagonists (Magnum and POV) will not be pulling you up and constantly asking what your previous username was as that only seems to matter when it is a rangers poster
The two afformentioned ‘posters’ have IMO virtually killed the site and as well as chasing away many existing posters have also succeeded in making sure new posters are not made welcome and give up posting

I also have to say though that the blame does not solely rely on those two posters, it also lies with the posters who condone their posting ‘style’ by not calling it out for what it is.Magnum especially gets a very easy time of it on here solely because he is a Celtic fan who goes to nights out
There are many, many decent Celtic posters on these boards but even many of these have been chased away by the bullying. It would seem JFK is the latest Celtic poster to be put off posting and even Ivan has now been driven off
Perhaps if more posters put their night out / team allegiances to one side and called out the posters for what they really are then the site could get back to what it once was
I think, sadly, it is too late for that and has been ruined beyond repair
It used to be a laugh on here but now there are no posts for hours on end yet if you click on a politics thread on the EPL pages it is full of SPFL posters who are turned off by the SPFL boards
Certain people need to take a long hard look at themselves, the sad thing is that they won’t as they refuse to see any fault in themselves despite being told by posters of all persuasions how much of a dhick they are being

Fair play for having your say mystery poster with no name.
No surprise to say I agree with a lot of what you say.
I personally would veer away from naming the posters who you see are the main culprits because frankly I think they enjoy the notoriety.
One of them seems particularly keen for me to filter him - and has urged me to do it on more than one occasion. He seems to see filtering as some sort of validation or badge of honour - like confirmation that we cant handle his mighty come backs on here.
The reality is he just looks like a bit of a clown to me and every invite to filter him has me rolling my eyes and chuckling at him rather than cowering like he seems to want.
One of the biggest things for me is definitely how a certain group of Celtic supporters all pile on together to give a Rangers posters a verbal kicking - most often when they have had a pop back at one of the gang.
And there is no balance to it. There have been several occasions where I have been accused of something but then clearly shown I didn't say or do what was being claimed. And after the good old boys have gone to town on me not a single one of the usual suspects held there hand up and said 'well Hamish has a bit of a point here - he didn't actually say that bhoys'.
It is all one way. Attack, attack, attack then......disappear without a trace when offering some kind words as an act of contrition would be more appropriate.
It really isn't much more than bullying to be really honest.
It doesn't bother me to the point where I am going to do a bleeding heart documentary with Megan Markle about it - but it is pretty tiresome and does make you less inclined to post.
Sadly I am finding myself exercising my democratic right to vote with my fingers more and more often these days and participate less and less.
I used to love the footy chat on here despite never being a major poster. But sadly it is the exception rather than the rule that there is a decent footy thread.
Oh - and whilst I am on it - I also kind of agreed with the guy who got slaughtered for slagging off the gay shex chat.
I don't really get it either - its all essentially the same joke and that makes it tediously boring. Those types of jokes were kind of a thing when you were about fifteen and people felt the need to make these jokes to make a show of confirming their own heterosexuality.
You know - only really really straight guys are secure enough in their manhood to make jokes about bumming kinda thing.....
