I wouldn’t say I’ve contradicted myself. I’m not making blanket declarations as many things can change. But most of what I’ve said has been echoed by most of the people closer to things at either club. The language thing has definitely been mentioned as an issue as well, because he doesn’t speak the language at all.

Plus it’s rare for a top manager to commit to a big job in the middle of the season when they have multiple options, which he will. That’s why I think he’d wait until the summer to take a job in England. These are pretty reasonable points.

Whats Bergkamp doing now?

Santo is just another Pochettino or Moyes, very good at building mediocre teams but never win anything. Bergkamp doesn't fly so no point.

Flying isnt needed fr the PL and for the rest of this season we vcould have womsone else at pitchside and him watching on tv and giving instructions to the touchline by phone. In the meantime he could have the psychiatric help he has spoken of considering in the past. Still better than Emery.

Wolves are one of the most boring sides in the league, so no, I wouldn't want him bringing that negative football here.

Any chance you could spell his name right by the way?

The last three Premier League games, Wolves have had 57 shots on goal (including 22 against Arsenal). Arsenal have only mustered 30 in that period. Yet we are are the boring ones.

Should Nuno go to Arsenal he is under immediate pressure to get Top 4 with a poor squad.

At Wolves he doesnt have this pressure.
If he failed to get European Football they woudnt
sack him.Their fans wont turn against Arsenal style

In fairness to Sheriff, he did say 'one of...'.

We are also terribly boring to watch under Emery. Replacing one negative manager for another doesn't exactly feel inspiring.

Plus which, given that Southampton just had 21 shots against us last weekend, Wolves should probably feel royally ashamed of themselves.

I wouldn't call him a negative manager. He had a negative spell earlier in the season and tends to revert to safety first when on a bad run. However, the majority of his time at Wolves he has played a 3-4-3 formation and we have looked to dominate possession and score goals.

We are doing that again at the moment with Jota, Jimenez and Traore up front and three midfielders across the back line.

Fair enough. I've not seen enough of Wolves to comment either way tbh.

By the same token why does anyone think Santo or Wolves wd agree for him to join Arsenal, or Rodgers quitting Leicester for North London? It's all academic.

Just seen the article on the BBC. Really bad situation here. If I was Emery I'd be extremely angry at that - either the club are opening courting replacements or the media's stirring, either way it's out of order. If Mourinho was in this position, with articles like that being written on the BBC, all hell would break loose.

But on the topic of Nuno as Arsenal manager, interesting proposition. I really rate him, was my first choice to replace Sarri in the summer, but that was more to do with him fitting that Jose/anti-football winning identity we've had the last 15 years - he'd fit us stylistically (the pre-Lampard Chelsea), Arsenal's a bit different.

Wenger did a lot of good shaping Arsenal's modern day image of being an aesthetically good football outfit, even when his abilities whined that image of his "Arsenal way" didn't. Nuno would be a completely revert back to the Boring Boring Arsenal days, he might do well but the club's image might suffer globally & I'm not sure he's a safe enough bet to risk that, especially following Emery's pedestrian style of football. Mourinho yes. Conte yes. Allegri yes. There's a certain level of prestige they bring themselves as established winners. Nuno??? I dunno.

Would prefer Allegri or Rodger but having a boring manager like Nuno wouldn't be bad. I actually think we need to get bk into that boring mode where we learn to keep clean sheets. The team has had no defensive discipline for years and it probably takes a whole new approach to change that.
