You've hit the nail on the head, however people choosing to educate themselves is in a way a part of the problem. People need to be taught how to properly assess sources. I've seen 'politically educated' people on here posting sources from Facebook complete with the tracking URL.
While the general populace is unable to differentiate between promoted propaganda and journalism we're all facked. Then you have to factor in who owns the newspapers and TV channels, and who they're friends with.. it doesn't take long to realise how hard it is to get a true picture of what's going on in the UK.

The Tory party being a mess shouldn’t detract from just how effective their propaganda machine is. Unfortunately there’s only so much that can be done whej up against that type of influence. Especially with a populace that is so susceptible to being conned. It’s sad, but it’s the way it is until people start to educate themselves better on the issues.

I’d say selfish for sure. Miserable not quite, the golf sorts that out. To easy going to be bitter about anything
