And how is Ivanovic average? When he's given a run of games he's excellent, while Kompany and de Jong are arguably the best CB and DM in the PL

Sorry, I do agree with that, but the OP was putting out a team to beat Barcelona and I suspect he was looking at Ramires for his effort and work-rate which would be useful against any team

But the OP also said that it's a World Team, which mean that he could have chosen anyone from anywhere. Why choose Ramires, player who had only a couple of decent games in his career, when there are much better players out there (Snejder, Gerrard, Robben, Ronaldo, or even Kaka and Ribery)?

Artisticka, you clearly don't watch our games very often. He's had far more than 'a couple of decent games in his career'. Quite often it goes unnoticed as he hasn't scored many for us (until Saturday). He's been our best midfielder since last winter.
