Is tonight a write-off?

Yup, City get a nice easy route to a final again and a nice easy final.

I'm not holding out much hope for tonight to be honest. Rarely have I ever felt less excited about a semi-final in truth.

You never know of course but I fancy City to comfortably go through tonight. I don't mean that they'll batter us but they'll do enough to not make it into a proper tie I'd imagine.

Think we'll go 3 at the back again

Can't see us getting back in the match, as they are certain to score at least 1... But we'll see.

Nah I expect another lesson in football. weve had our 1 unexpected win against city this season.

i wouldnt say so, we went away at city a while back and were 2-0 up so no reason we cant do the same tonight.

i think if youre in a cup semi the least you can do is give it 100% on the off chance you may be able to turn it around.

if they can score in the first half i expect like last time theyll take it easy second half.

wonder if they will play a striker this time.

I'm not expecting too much from tonight. Hopefully the lack of expectation takes a bit of pressure off the players so they can perform well.

We did have Rashford then tbh and Pep showed in the OT game he could put Gundogan where he did to stop that Etihad type of result from happening again

4-1 United, looking forward to the final

keep it tight and all it takes is a set piece and then the pressure is on, city will either come out and possibly leave space or sit back and try and hold on.

not saying that will happen of course, but if there is the possibility we at least have to try

Even if we scored first I don’t think City would feel any pressure.

and that side youve put out would get arsefecked.

what kind of impact would that have on the likes of garner, Greenwood and gomes

posted on 29/1/20

and why do people keep sticking Garner in their line ups, he isnt ready to be playing for the fuirst team, which is why sunderland... a team scraping for a play off place in league 1 are leading the race to sign him on loan

Chances are that they will beat us fairly easily, but you never know. First goal will be crucial. But we can't go out and play a weak team. It is a semi final and it is City. We have to go full strength. The lads have got a 16 day break after the Wolves game so let them rest then.

An early goal would give us a chance. As Ole always says, if you can get to the last stretch of the game and still be in it, who knows?

posted on 29/1/20

Whilst I don't expect us to go through I do expect us to try though. You never know. A set-piece, a red card, a moment of genius and we're right back in it. I just think it's unlikely to happen but I do expect 100% to be given.

If we do go through tonight then I hope we go out in the next round cos the last thing we need is more fixture congestion.

posted on 29/1/20

Hmm... I would have said let it be a walk over but I remember we have bad experiences with that, especially the game we here hoping to be "fit* for being a sheitshow. Just put the best team out there and hope for the best.

We showed against Tranmere what we’re capable of. Game on.

One of the best young whatever he is in the world at the moment if we get him, too small and weak for the prem and not united quality if we don't. I have never heard of him.

Fully expect, imo anyway, to go out, would love to get an early goal, 10-25 mins in just to make it interesting, its a semi final and I always want to win but I'm a realist, time will tell however

Yes, it's a write off.

Manchester City predicted lineup (4-3-3): Bravo; Walker, Stones, Fernandinho, Mendy; De Bruyne, Rodri, Silva; Mahrez, Aguero, Sterling.

Could be a long night.

If that's the case then all we can hope for is complacency. What we should be doing though is peppering Bravo with shots. If he starts spilling one or two it could affect them. Who knows?

I’m sure after we’ve lost 4-0 Ole will say something like ‘it shows the progress we’ve made seeing that strong line up from City’
