I hope this shuts up the Levy haters as it finally shows a club has to live within its means. Next up PSG.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
There is living within your means and then there is Levy`s living within your means, nobody is asking for City levels of spending, but rather spending commensurate with our status as the 8th richest and one of the most profitable clubs in the world.

No need to worry city fans. You know how these things go. Send a lad down to Ryman's for a pack of 25 brown envelopes and off you go.

I think there’s a pretty strong likelihood that with an appeal, there’s a suspension of the ban for a year anyway.

Likely no penalty applies before the 2021/22 season pending the outcome of the appeal to CAS, so Pep won’t be in a rush to run off.

Spurs are a well run club, probably the best in the country. Spurs a model club in every way, they don`t just throw money at the project to buy trophies like City, Chelsea and now Liverpool appear to be doing.

Juventus all the way

Sarri is in trouble there
----------------------------------------------------------------------
They’ve lost three games all season.

They’re level on points with Inter at the top of the league, in the cup semifinal, and absolutely walked their CL group.

How is he in trouble? Because they lost a single game against Verona?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

It goes a lot deeper than that. Poor tactics, massively reliant on one player, poor signings and a drop in standards since Allegri left. If Pep became available Sarri would be out the door quicker than anything

I don`t see this being overturned, or even suspended, they have form, so didn`t heed the warning they had with their previous misdemenours. If anything they should be banned for about five years.

I wouldn’t say he’s “in trouble” Robb.

They’ll likely win the cup and league, IMO. Sarri’s future will probably depend on how they do in the CL.

City will also likely be playing CL football next season and Pep will run his contract out.

And we're not being bankrolled by oil oligarchs.

Christ, you'd think they'd put some thought into their jibes.

Every pound we've spent has been earned, through gate receipts, marketing, TV money & judicious transfer dealings.

Spurs are not even well run is the joke.

Look at how they wasted the bale money when that sort of fee meant something. That was lsrgely a joke.

Look how badly they messed up their stadium build and had to delay going there due to it being a death trap. More waste as they rented wembley a season longer than they were meant to.

Look at how the cost of the bowl exploded to the final incredibly huge burden on a club that looks like thry not need to finish 5th just to keep the revenue flowing. Mill stone

Er Spurs earn more out of their new stadium than any club in the country. Nothing like you posting total bollox.

And like Liverpool haven`t wasted plenty of money in the past. Bale left years ago, so what has that got to do with 2020 Spurs?

I agree Billy, we could probably get away with spending more. Still, this saga is evidence that FFP has teeth and teams have to abide by it. Personally, I think City has gotten off lightly. Given that their incredible levels of spending gave them titles, there is an argument that says they should officially be stripped of said titles, like a doped athlete would.

---------------------------------------------------------
There's been a considerable decline in quality since Allegri left. SarriBall just hasn't clicked there, results wise it's not a crisis but they've been very pedestrian all season - heavily relying on Ronaldo's individual quality. Similar situation to what he had at Chelsea in many ways.

The fair thing to do would be giving him another season regardless if they win anything & judge him next year (same as with Chelsea), but football's not fair. If Guardiola becomes realistic they'll kick him to the curb without remorse.

posted on 15/2/20

What about the longer term impacts, if their sponsorship arrangement is illegal, then they are going to be failing ffp every season for the foreseeable future.

If the CAS upholds the decision (and city did sign up to ffp) city are going to need to shift a number of high earners...

posted on 15/2/20

City will lodge an appeal. The case will not have been decided until well into next year, so City will still be in next year's CL. The ban - if upheld - will start in the 21/22 season. So Guardiola can finish his contract unaffected by the ban.

it wont be, do you think uefa want the likes of aguero, de bruyne, sterling and walker out of the tournament?

Maybe the question should not "will Pep stay" but rather should he "be allowed to stay"?

Surely Pep had to have had some knowledge about the corruption charges against City? If so, then he also has dirty hands!
