What worries me is even if we get through this tie, how the hell are we suppose to face a real European biggie like Juve or Barca without a striker?!

We're just going to be so toothless for the rest of the season

SO frustrating when we looked to finally be making progress. Set ourselves up for a great final third - top four is on, FA cup is on, CL is on... then we're hamstrung by losing both strikers and now it feels like we don't really have any chance to compete.

'Oh what could have been'
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Lets be honest..... We were bang average before Kane & Son got injured.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Yes and no.

We were great in Poch's prime. Then we regressed, badly, the second half of last season and start of this season. Something was clearly wrong.

Jose came in and it's clear it will take some time to implement his ideas and methods. It was a bit shaky in his first few games, and we're still a mess at the back, but it was clear that some progress was being made and we were getting better. Admittedly though it was going to take a lot longer to all really start clicking.

What I'm saying is that it would have been a lot easier for this progression to happen with Kane and Son than without. We now can't play Jose's preferred way as we don't have a striker, so it will be even longer before we start to see the progress that is clearly possible.

So yes we aren't great, but that's because of regression under Poch and a new manager who can't transform us over night. But it would be a lot easier for him to make us good again if he has a strikeforce!

Agree with your comments about not signing one though

I’m going tonight. Will be the last time this season. I’ll save my money and go and watch my local non league team. They have a striker and I might see some goals.

Spurs to lose 1-0 tonight.

I'd stick Super Jan up front if we need a goal late on. Lump it to Jan!

Do we think Davies could play again so soon after his first 90 mins on Sunday

I fear its gonna be Winks & Dier With Dele, GLC & Bergwijn behind Moura in some kinda "False 9"

Id rather lose tonight if I could have 3 points at the weekend..Bet the thought has crossed Jose's mind

Yes. The only other preferable option is playing Tanganga there and I'd rather him over Aurier.

Chance of Aurier giving away a pen or getting red carded will be increased in this match.

whichever way you pick it..... it don't look great.... I'll be stunned if we get a result. I can see Werner being a nightmare... praying sanchez doesn't play but then again we aint got much else.... Maybe Jan can channel his "superjan" for one CL finale !!!!

isn't that every match ?..... its what he does

Looking forward to seeing RB play.,.... See if Nagglesmann is worth all the hype ?

Is Parrott in the CL squad ?? If he is, really cant see what harm it would do..... Might get a surprising performance out of him... worked with Tanganga Vs Liverpool

He can tend to get away with it in lesser matches. If I were Nagelsman I'd definitely be targeting Aurier as the weak link.

Jose doesn't think Parrott is ready though. Given that he must have thought Tanganga was ready and has been proven right, I'll trust Jose's judgement on this.

problem is you have a back up striker half a season knowing hes back up not getting many minutes and he starts playing and he cant hit a barn door and is pony.

not easy finding one either. Should have given more trust in Parrott from the beginning, there were rumours of a deal on the table for Llorente in the summer to stay with us, would have suited our current situation.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Kane plays too much...... His injury record proves it. There is ZERO need for a discussion about signing another forward to play back up to Kane. We should act like a proper club and make it perfectly clear to kane and any new signing that there is competition for places and there are more than enough games to rotate and keep everyone fresh/ allow for injuries
