So, rather predictably, the noise coming out of the media today regarding Giovani Lo Celso escaping a red card has been deafening.
Where was this noise when Raheem Sterling escaped a red card against Spurs, where was the noise when Andy Robertson escaped a red card against Spurs, where was the noise when Harry Maguire escaped a red card against Chelsea and where was the noise when VVD escaped a red card v Everton, etc etc.?
-----------
You couldn't hear the noise because you have selective hearing.
Anything that points out how bad the job VAR is doing and heaps pressure on the people running the show, the better.
I don't understand why pundits are not calling out the referees for their joke decisions? VAR was needed because of the incompetency and for some strange reason they have become even more incompetent!
On Saturday VAR looked at the tackle 5 or 6 times and they still mess it up. It beggars belief.
Not sure what the point of this is..... should have been a straight Red on the field, VAR should have sent him off and anyone complaining about what a massive c*ck up it was is 100% right.... All pundits are bias... always have been
I do find it odd that this one has been wholly condemned yet on Sterling's plenty of pundits were saying it was a yellow. Souness was at pains to say he's not that kind of player
They were two absolute stone wall reds, and just highlight how pointless var is (in its premier league form)
lo Celso should have been sent off
It was a red card all day long
The way officials are using V A R is wrong
I don’t get why some of fans get so irate about the media views
With have far bigger problems !
All this article needs is for Sandy to come on and write something about Liverpool and morespurs to write something unintelligible and it will be complete

I think the noise is around VAR, not because it's a Spurs player.

Typical rollercoaster of a Spurs supporter..Enjoy the ride
VAR is good for the game. It clears up a lot that used to get missed in the past. The problem is the failure to pick out clear and obvious errors by Stockley Park.
I hear players and ex players saying they don't want it. Well we maybe wouldn't need it if there was more integrity on the pitch but players will lie through their teeth to claim a throw in let alone the dives for free kicks and pens. All clubs are guilty of this.
Obviously the controversy is about them actually admitting they got this wrong and still not changing it
It's been and gone. We move forward with a plan to stop this happening again and the right decision is made. I accept there will be times where it's not clear and obvious and thats already accounted for. How would everyone feel if VAR interrupt the game 5 mins after an incident was judged upon and the video ref says I got it wrong please issue a red card? I'd say it would be farcical. One things for sure it's not as clear cut as many thought it would be.

We get irate because of the blatant inconsistency. Apart from the other examples given in this post, there was a bad challenge in the Sheff Utd game but, because they are one of the current media darlings, this incident did not even reach the papers.
Too often there is noise regarding Spurs, particularly after a defeat, when there is nothing but positive press on others, no matter how rubbish they have become in recent years. Eg the fawning currently being seen over Fernandes at Utd. So he has has one good game, so what ? for all the positive they are still only one point ahead of us , when we are having our worst season in living memory. Have lost count of hoe many false dawn's that lot have had.
