the WORST arsenal signing of all time

where him and his agent pocket our transfer fee.
====================

How very dare he put himself first with what will be his final big contract.

I for one am appalled.

Ozil was a top player before he came to arsenal, the club ruined his career and he will be remembered for the time there as oppose to how good he was in germany, for the national team and for real madrid. sad

Will he? Doubtful.

Wenger’s fault.

Wouldn't be seen dead on Twitter myself Lex, never signed up and never going to. Hate most social media but that particular platform has ALWAYS defined the user it was created for, in the first four letters of it's name.

Adam the outrage for an Arsenal fan isn't in the seeking one last payday as a player (that's fine). It's the fact his agent is saying he intends to get that payday after forcing us to keep him another season first.

He can feck off to another club THIS summer. Then WE will make some of our money back and he is free to feck the next club out of a fee by running his contract out there. It's the additional "years pay for feck all work" he wants (bare in mind we've given him 5 years pay for nothing already) in which the outrage lie. Bit like Pogba telling you lot "Even if you find anyone to buy me, I ain't going cos I wanna feck you outta more wages first, then see to it you get no money back at all after I've cost you..." Utd fan wouldn't stand for that sh!t and neither should Arsenal ones.

* Truly outstanding players are outstanding in ANY team they play in. They do not require their whole national team or one of the world's best league sides, around them to shine.

Arsenal never ruined Ozil. The man himself was NEVER as good as he appeared to be in a WC winning team or the feckin Galacticos. Mate I coulda done do a pretty good job of looking an amazing player in those teams too. Yourself probably likewise.

Ozil was signed to boost marketing and shirt sales imo. He’s a brand, Bit like Beckham at PSG and Real. Ok he’s a talented player on his day but he draws people to seats and sells. It’s pure business.

Any idea what last year's Ozil shirt sale total was? I'm baffled as to which fans Barr the "Solidarity to my country/creed," people, have bought that shirt in the last 3-4 years. Surely we've sold barely any and still even "got a whole warehouse of dusty Nike ones out back, if ya prefer theirs"

I’ve worked at the club and know people that still do. His name is still one of the most printed, Arsenal is a global brand and Ozil is one of the most recognisable faces in world football.

So do they only show his YouTube clips in those places or something. I get the Arsenal brand being worldwide, just can't understand why any fan would want to put HIS name on their shirt, given his performances.

Ok so we shifted a stack his first couple years, get that. But why get the name of someone who's been seriously crap for 5 years. Surely they recognise other player whom have done more than Ozil to warrant the honour. "he's been utter crap for 5 years, I want his name on my shirt," just seems a really bizarre stance. Every kid I've ever known, wants the name of someone who done something of note, in the last 5 years or club legend.

He's neither so I don't get it. Something dodgy going on there because he hasn't played well enough to command that many sales, still. Club's lying because being truthful would only make his shirt worth even less ( They got dusty Nike ones still remember). Or he and some rich mates are buying them up in bulk and giving them away in some backwater somewhere. I certainly haven't seen anyone with his name on their shirt in years. People EVEN stopped wearing their older ones.

Mate as I said Ozil is a brand, he has an gigantic following , people will buy his shirt because of who he is. His performances are irrelevant arsenal attract 100,000s of tourists each yr. Like pogba, hasn’t played all season but I bet he’s one of utds top players merchandise wise and shirt sales. I agree with you with his form on the pitch and I would not be upset to see him leave.

Just looked and apparently there are enough crazy ass people out there to give him the 5th number of shirts sold worldwide. That kinda stat makes it harder to argue with people who say football fans are thick

I wanna know which country is buying the most and by how many lol.
