A good comment GB, but we don't seem to have many Saints on this forum.
.same as Liverpool and M City and eventually Spurs for example.

I think you want to rephrase that because you're making it sound like LIverpool never decided to furlough any but we know that's not the truth
Yes, Liverpool reversed the decision but .....eventually!

Well, maybe for the initial decision but I'd give both of our clubs credit for reversing the decisions. Like I said in my post for Spurs reversal, it takes a big club to admit they were wrong and reverse the decision.
Though I have to say clubs may have reverted their original decisions for other reasons too. Not just because of pressure from the fans.
There's talk of PFA asking players to take pay cut or have a deferral, but players insisted on no furloughing by clubs.

They haven't refused to take a pay cut, they are in negotiations.
Surprised a Liverpool fan falls for the red top sensationalised headlines...
Liverpool are also still in negotiations with their players about pay cuts/deferrals.
Dunno how long it takes to take a 30% across the board cut to be honest.
LFC have already done damage to the clubs rep. if the players refuse to take thier cut they will finished to me
Where has 30% come from? Southampton players have taken 10% deferrel (not cut) and are being labelled heroes.

southampton board clearly don't need much to keep barely ticking over then
United players have taken a 30% cut for this month at least. It has to go to the NHS.
Are they heroes, not in my book, not risking their lives, or becoming poor!
But I'l still pleased they did it, and hope it lasts until the end of the confinement.
Really wish they wouldn't take a paycut.
Wish they'd make hefty contributions from net pay. Then there is a drastic loss of tax income at a time we desperately need it. Reducing PL footballer's wages by 30% reduces the income tax take by £200m...
