They were all in quarantine and tested vigorously. One fighter was pulled out the day before the event as he was positive. The fact he suddenly tested positive so late i think its fair to say he will have some hard questiins to answer 😅
They had media and skeleton staff all socially distanced and it was very effective. Def showed a big company with stringent safety precautions can host major events.
A one off fight is very different to having to play over 90 games though. Also there is a huge difference between the number of people involved in that UFC event and even one football match, never mind the rest of the season.
If football starts but has to be postponed again then it will have been a reckless and pointless decision. That UFC fight is done and gone in an hour.

This wasn't one fight it was a whole card of fights. Sure it is different but my point is 1 football match is easier to police and arrange than last night's UFC card. That's like 4-5 hours plus of fights. Strict testing and distancing along with a strict quarantine can work imo

In UFC that has no ripple effect. In football it means 14 day quarantine for the whole squad (see Dynamo Dresden) and total disruption.

Exactly. As I watched Tony Fergus on get a massive inhuman beat down I did find it hard to sympathise with multi millionaire footballers, that have had 2 month holidays, saying they are worried.
Fighters know their life's are on the line every but and prepare as such. It's serious. Surely if the PL players cannot take this seriously and isolate from their families for a month or two to finish the season, they have to expect some people questioning their heart for it.
Maybe like with Aguero they just have little idea what covid is, how it works and how they need to protect themselves. Teachers, delivery drivers and many others will earn a miniscule amount by compariaon, with little protection (certainly nowhere near as much) and have no choice but to work to survive. Combined with last night's event I just don't see why the PL can't go ahead.

You only need social distancing if you have covid cases. If every player tests negative who will they catch it from?
The ufc allowed players some freedom, and USA is a bit more lapse than the UK it seems, and the fighter in question will have some difficult questions to answer.
If teams are together isolating, and then they all test negative (along with their skeleton staff etc) what is the issue?
Players are paid to be professionals just as that fighter was. The footballers have more protection than any other occupation I can think of at the mo tbh. If you earn millions and after a two month holiday cannot bring yourself to stay away from family for a short window for your job, I just find it hard to sympathise.

So why the hell shouldn't footballers with their massive salaries (and high levels of fitness that make them overall less susceptible anyway)??

By that I assume you mean Liverpool fans want football back at any cost, fek others, fek the consequences.
