It irritates me when someone says something is almost exactly the same as something else. What?? Can't be both.

And also, how unique is something?

Well, it is unique or it isn't, there are no degrees of uniqueness.

I always find it interesting that free speech on the internet often comes with poor spelling. I earn enough to be able to afford more expensive speech, which comes with punctuation and correct grammar. You'd think someone would create some open source free speech where it was free but still had coherent sentences. Or maybe people only say they are using free speech because they are using speech which may actually be costly. Not to themselves but at the cost of others. Maybe it's not free at all.

As my mother once said to me "nothing in life is free, I'll tell you that for free". That's the philosophy I've lived by since.

My mother always used to say to me “get out or you’re staying in”

Holds back on joke about that being what your mother used to say to me but in a different context. Glad I didn't make the joke.

What a pleasant bunch of commentators you have Kitty. The Derby board likewise is full of outstanding characters but sometimes, particularly during cup games we have been exposed to people who are VILE!

Where about? I cycled from Vatersay up to Lewis but didn't go past Stornoway. Went to the Stornoway Sea Anglers club instead and had a very strange night.

You have to get the ferry if you want to go from Uig to Uig. But you'd have to drive to Uig first.

Uig, the name derives from the Norse word Vik meaning 'a bay'. Bhaltos (or Valtos) is the largest village in Uig and is home to about 35 people. Two smaller villages are Cliobh (Cliff), Cnip (Kneep).

Some good names there My fave is Cnip.

To the other Heb,a serious question.I've never been that far north, would I be able to comprehend the accent ?

If Uig means "bay" then how come there's Uig Bay? Might as well call it bay bay. Then when ram guy is describing the weather where he is, he can say

Bay bay, it's cold outside

"Bay bay, it's cold outside"
