Berahino would be a gamble but with our finances we will need to take a few of those.

I'd take him on with a get out clause after a season for the club. At the very least he's recognised his attitude was a problem and has been working on it.

Heard today about a boy, early developer, captained his country at 16, motm v England, moved down a level at 17 to get game time, now walked out on his club at 18. Mental what goes through heads at that age.

There’s loads of good players about but it is some inexplicable chemistry of skill, attitude, life dynamic, team dynamic, coach dynamic, right place, right time & luck that decides.

Hagi should be great value for money assuming the transfer fees don’t fall through their erse because of COVID.

Berahino doesn’t sound ideal to me. Would rather gamble on Sturridge’s glass legs, or even someone like Ravel Morrison who has at least shown more ability. Must be better players than him who will be looking for a club with all that’s going on

Would say 8 in 22 is ok, good at a push but nowhere near very good.

==

A record fee was paid for a player who scored 11 in 29.

I thought that a very good return.
And nowhere near finished

He did even better in the following season.

Course it is. Outside of the old firm, where the gapnis so large, 1 in 3 is a great return

So is that Rangers effectively topping up our bank account once the Kouassi transfer goes through?

Weird, told your fans you had no money for a refund but go and spend 3m on a player.

Hagi is clearly a talented player. The issue will be can he either fit into Gerrard’s system, or does the system change to fit him. There will be a reason why after 6 months Genk decided they were happy for him to go on loan, and after 1 year sell him. No idea what that might be-could be a number of reasons.

But, he’s definitely a talented player.

Glad to see Hagi sign because he looked a player during his loan. Interesting time to be spending transfer fees though, hopefully it doesn't come back to bite us.

Berahino can gtf. We need talented young players with good attitudes and good resale value. Not money sinks with bad attitudes.

He's a no10.

He plays there or not at all imo. I do think 3m is slightly steep but if he can improve his physicality and kick on he could be worth a lot of money. His attitude has been excellent so that gives me hope he can.

That’s his natural position it’s where he plays for Romania and where he has played previously

They changed manager in November and I think he fell out of favour after that.

He started more than he didn't before that.

Don’t really care what they thought in that 5 month period.

Showed for us he is already a good player, and at 21 he can already be a game changer in a big game. Would think in the right position he could do that in Scotland too, and can develop into a better player.

It’s big money for us, but it looks to be great value for money. We can’t afford top class attacking players like we used to, and at the fees we can afford the attacking players are going to be inconsistent or young like Hagi.

Possibly. Although his league stats don’t really seem to back that up at a quick glance. Didn’t seem to finish many games, was brought on later in a few or not at all. The new manager-whenever he took over-didn’t seem to think he was worth a start that often-agree with that.

But, he’s rangers player now, so what happened before doesn’t really matter now.

He's a far better number ten than we have. Admittedly we don't have one. Creativity was probably our biggest issue, plenty players that can keep the ball but not a rogic type.
This lad at least forces the issue. Never want to see him wide right again though.

I agree we eed to avoid playing him right wing. It just exposes his lack of pace and turns a talent into something most teams can successfully manage.
