Lurker the jerker....seems rather apt.
I don't agree with the article at all - there's nothing wrong with showing solidarity.
However...
Messages like this are relatively meaningless if not backed up by action.
Not saying LFC haven't - I have no idea.
But generally speaking, photos like this, changing logos, statements on Twitter are meaningless in isolation.
are we just going to say anybody who mentions it is seeking pr? sancho yesterday? pr move right? people at the protest? pr moving for their social media? etc
Anyway since youd rather do a point score ill bring up the ian wright schmeichel incident

I thought with their history of racism they were imitating the police officer who killed George Floyd.

Whether that is true or not, what you said crossed a line imo.
As for your latest comment, I'd like to think about many of the players do genuinely care.
But it's certainly become fashionable for celebrities to tell the world that they care, without actually doing anything to help. I hope that isn't the case here.
People in the UK die from police brutality so I think it’s a decent gesture.

We have to be very careful about trying to apply the protests in the US against our own society.
It doesn't fit, imo.
We have issues of course, but entirely different, which require different actions.

It would be a decent gesture if Liverpool did this in a way that wasn't a shameful attempt to get in to the public's good books.

I don't remember any outrage over this incident and it was a hell of a lot closer to Anfield.

Do we have to approach every gesture with cynicism? It’s for a good cause so what harm is there by taking it at face value?

Mind those windows mate.
You're assuming this was led by the club, rather than by the players.
Presumably you've some evidence of this?
Genuine question.

Yes we do Robb.
When causes are cherry picked to get behind, it says it all.
Would this incident have got so much publicity if the offender, which apparently he was for trying to use counterfeit currency, was white, Chinese, Mexican? Doubt it. I agree that the police officer totally screwed up but I find it hard to believe that he deliberately killed the man. I live in the UK where racial problems aren't quite as bad. It's not so long ago that the USA had a black president so what is the mentality of the rioters and protesters? Yes, you have a self-serving joke of a leader now who embarasses your country but torching everything isn't the answer. Just have Tanman impeached for improper conduct, move on and make the world a safer place again.
