I would love Eric to succeed as I think he is a good club person but sadly I just dont think he is good enough to play for a top 4 cub and that is where we wish to be.

I’d still like a top draw CB to come in but if Dier can maintain this and push on I’d be happy to have him still.

As a DM I’d want him gone ASAP

Thought he played very well in the last 2 games.....CB defo his best position.... deserves to keep his place

I agree that Dier is looking better, especially in view of the fact that he has the extra task to help Davies out at LB.
But truth is the whole back four are up for replacement.
Is Aurier good enough to stay as first choice RB?
How about Sanchez in the center?
And Davies at LB?
Both Alderwiereld and Vertoghen are going out, although Levy extended Vertonghen's contract, which is an indication of Levy's planning this summer!

Given the interest payments on the empty new stadium.....what can Levy & Lewis be expected to do?
Quite a dilemma .... stay middle league with no European footy.........
or dig deep for the money to buy players like Upameccano?
Chelsea are bulking up.
Next season very interesting ...but not for Spurs fans, I fear.

He's done well. Will certainly be a beneficiary of Jose's style.

Still unconvinced he's a long term solution but certainly deserves his place for now.

Looks far more comfortable on the left hand side than Sanchez or toby

We need one more in with Verts and probably Foyth leaving

He is playing well and the system Jose employs suits his game but he lacks pace and it could cost us. Hopefully he has found his calling at CB and settles into the role but Sanchez is my number one CB due to his pace. Yes he is clumsy at times as has Dier too but hopefully both of them will forge a strong partnership in the future.

funny when you keep the same back 4 in consecutive games...

sadly I think this heralds the end of our Belgium Wall.

Probably a bit easy to say he should be our new no.1 CB after a few games.

Shout out to Ben Davies. Been solid the last two games.

I've always seen Dier better suited as DM than CB.....

posted on 24/6/20

I hope he is as he's not very good at football

Jose loves him too so he's gonna play regardless

Looks much better at CB than DM but still pretty average and not top 4 quality

Could save us a signing at the back. Only need to sign 1 CB now

100% agree..... Not good enough with the ball at his feet to play in a 4231 when the attacking wide players Son/Moura like to cut inside. Leaves our attacking threat lopsided to the right with Aurier..... yet ANOTHER reason why our attacking play is too narrow...... We must start Sess, esp at home, even if he's not as good defensively

Still need one or two CBs bringing in, in the summer. One of those has to a top draw CB who will be our number 1, so:

Number 1
Toby
Davinson
Dier

So Toby, Davinson and Dier compete for the 2nd CB spot.

And then it’s a toss up between getting a second in and Foyth. I just don’t know where Foyth is supposed to play though - CB, LB or even CM??

Credit to Mourinho, he's done what we've all been saying needed doing for years and stuck Dier in his actual position. Not convinced he's going to become a top class CB, but he's OK for now.
