2137: An incredible game at Old Trafford but that's nothing on the scenes at the Allianz Arena where Carlos Tevez refused to warm up when he was asked to come on in the second half. Tevez's team-mate Edin Dzeko, who I think he was meant to replace, showed his disgust when he took his place on the bench, and I suspect that is just the start of this particular story.

I wouldn't be so sure about that. We didn't think Basel would cause as much trouble as they did

Im confident we will still top the group but I am definitely worried about our defence

Jones' inexperience showed, Evra caught out of position constantly (seems to be the norm nowadays), Rio not his old self and the midfield not protecting the back 4 at all

Rio doesnt look match fit, we are missing a lot of players at the back.

Basle played well so we should sell them short

You'll still go through tho - you'll comfortably beat the whipping boys, while I'm sure you'll get at least 2 points from the other games

Based on that performance I wouldn't be confident about Benfica at home and Basel away. I don't know enough about Galati to judge them

I think we will still qualify, this was not a great result but no disaster, we took a point of Benifica so they have to come to Old Trafford still and at the moment I still think they are the main rivals to the top spot

Some idiot stated, can't remember who, that we could afford to play the likes of Gibson against Basel and that we would walk the group.

Given the injuries that was the strongest line up possible. Factor in our form and we should have won comfortably.

But as noted at half time, we were all over the place in defence and passes were so astray that sooner or later we'd be punished.

We get away with shoddy passing in the league but in Europe even against a side like Basel you'll get found out.

as good as Jones is, he has now made mistakes which led to goals in the last two games. I dont think Fergie would have wanted to throw him in the deep end like this. come back Vidic !!
