We don't move the ball quick enough in the final third and go backwards too easily. Teams know they can sit off us and we will struggle to create.

Something needs to change against Everton.

If we play like that Everton will rip us apart.

pathetic!

Everton are completely wrong for you lot as they were for us. They will sit back and defend really well - you’ll look to hit them on the counter with your negative approach and it will go nowhere. 0-0

Agree with you wulfrun, where Traore has his most value in tight games like this is in the last half hour not the first hour. The game had 0-0 all over it until Sheffield started humping high balls in the box in the last few minutes. Before that they looked just as unlikely to score as we did. And on a tiring pitch in a game that was going nowhere it was a sign that Nuno has little faith in Podence and Campana because we certainly looked in need of some fresh legs

Not winning in the first 6 or 7 games and dropping poor points at the business end of the season is really going to show.

My view as the season has progressed has been that this will end up being a massive missed opportunity as we failed to strengthen adequately and fail to put enough pressure on teams defensively. Nothing i have seen tonight has hanged my view on that.

When did Willy Boly lose the confidence to move the ball forwards? I lost count of his back passes tonight. Possibly his worst game in old gold.

I'm struggling for positives for this game but I thing Doc looked better than he has recently and Coady had a good game. The only other positive thing I can think of is that overall they looked better than they did against Arsenal.

Oh no, sorry. I also think Saiss did nothing wrong either.

What fecks me off in games like this is that we looked no better than Sheffield United, a team thrown together with the one aim of being gritty and rugged. That isn't a knock on them but when we have the players we have we should be showing some genuine quality but our style is stifling that.

We had some bright moments but none of them lead to anything and far too many sloppy passes. Six shots on target in the last four games is a big problem. I'll wager that United will have as many as that in the first half against the villa tomorrow night.

Your style is awful I don’t know why Wolves gets so much credit. You used to skate Leicester for playing exactly the same way. You might as well sign Danny facking Drinkwater

I hate our style, but while it gets results i will stomach it as any fan would. But i remember early season it took literally three or four games for the fans to turn when we couldn't win and that will always happen fast when you dish up uninspiring stuff.

As for Wolves getting credit, the praise normally comes after a nice comeback when we have had to open up and play or we at least take the game to a bigger side but that isn't our bread and butter style at all.

I see plenty of fans saying how negative and boring we are to watch as well and loads on this forum.

posted on 8/7/20

We are not normally boring or uninspired, we are playing top level teams in the Premier and Europa don’t forget, but there is something lacking at the moment, we have a largely successful style of play and talented and exciting players and a passionate and talented manager who has brought us a long way in a very short period

Whether it's down to being behind closed doors we're creating begger all with the likes of Neves, Moutinho, Raul, Jota etc which is ridiculous. Had this last season when the mighty 'uddersfield beat us twice . Nuno as good as he is must surely have learned about our limitations versus "cloggy" teams. No point winning 3 in a row if we then lose the next 2 and counting bearing in mind our performance against Everton at the start of the season was abysmal.

Such a weak league this year with 2 possibly 3 CL places up for grabs but still time.

We have actually failed to score in five of our last ten league games, i didn't realise that.

Yep, chances created is really poor. When we win it is by 1 or sometimes 2 but rarely more than that. I don't get what the issue is as we definitely have the talent.

Burnley are only 3 points behind us and we face them after Everton

posted on 9/7/20

I think part of everyone's disappointment is due to the fact that we won 3 games quite comfortably (admittedly against poor opposition), and then lost two on the trot (admittedly against better opposition). 9 points from 15.

I wonder if we would have felt quite so disappointed had we won 2 and drawn the other 3. So undefeated, but still 9 points from 15. I, for one, would probably have felt better after that scenario.

We're still 6th, we could still finish higher (Leicester watch yourselves), we're still in the Europa League.

Perhaps we'll smash Everton.

I really hope so Wulfrun, we cannot lose sixth place

I think we are in real danger of not winning another game this season.
The four teams we are playing are all in better form than us and we do not appear to have the resources to change anything.
Hopefully we could get a couple of draws.

Hope I'm wrong.

Not sure we’ll smash Everton wulfrun, or smash anyone at the moment but hopefully we can get three points. Since the restart we haven’t got into scoring positions very much and it increasingly feels that if Jimenez doesn’t score then Wolves don’t score.

To me our strongest 11 is to start with Dendoncker and play Jimenez and Jota up front. That’s particularly needed against teams like Sheffield and Brighton who pack midfield and nullify our players running from deep. Jota to me is best pushed forward closer to Jimenez rather than picking up the ball in midfield. And while Traore is a contender for our player of the season, he makes his biggest impact in the last half hour against tiring defenders. And his shoulder is clearly still a problem that will probably need surgery to solve at some stage.

Our other shortcoming when you look at the teams that will get into the champions league is the quality on the bench. Man City, Man Utd, Chelsea can name 18 players of quality but we struggle to name more than 14 at the moment

But to me Europa League qualification would still make it another fantastic season and that’s the level we are at right now. And as 6th would be our highest league finish since 1980 that is a great target to aim for in the last four matches
