You were on fire and all in a sudden halted - got unlucky this season with injuries and a bit of inexperience.. Technically you still can ignite some if not most of that fire back.

Players like Soyuncu, Maddison. Chilwell and Ricardo will all be back. Thomas and Hirst into the squad . Why not consider buying Mitrovic? Need to get goalscorers to the club. Too much pressure on Vardy to net goals. Strengthen with a couple of quality players. ...

With more ambition - You need two wingers who could get 8-10 goals and 8-10 assists each.

If Gray could play football and Barnes hit the target, we might be there, but Gray needs shipping out and replacing and Barnes needs some fierce competition to bring him on a bit.

We can score goals beyond Vardy, its the service and confidence that means a lot. Our goals scored and goal difference wasnt created by Vardy alone

While an overhaul isn't needed, we need strengthening in a few key areas:

GK: Fine.

CB: We need to make sure we have a viable third CB. Could be Benkovic but that will need to be worked out behind the scenes. It sure as heck isn't Ryan Bennett.

Full backs: Being able to rotate between Ricardo, Chilwell and Justin looks viable. A discussion will be had about how and when to bring Luke Thomas on. Not an immediate area of concern unless Chilwell is sold.

CM: Plenty of players available, but Hamza Choudhury needs to learn the discipline needed of a defensive midfielder; he's not going to make it as anything else and if he can't be a DM then he's only really a Championship player. Mendy's wasting his career here and isn't European standard.

AM/Wings: Area most in need of improvement. Gray and Perez don't look the standard needed. Neither Albrighton, although he would remain a useful squad player. I'd be looking to make one, maybe two signings there.

CF: Iheanacho has come on enough to suggest he deserves a chance. Need to have some sort of viable third option from somewhere, although the problem of going for someone like Mitrovic is that I simply don't think he'd play enough. We could do with someone who can play across the forward line.

So I think two wingers and a centre half are the focus of the shopping list, and look to move on Mendy and Gray. (And any others like Slimani)

Let us not forget how the powers that be will be delighted you haven't made top four and they did as much as they could to help rivals.

GK fine

I thought today with his Sea World shirt on he was being paid to put it on live tv. He held the ball too long.... We do not score with the ball in our keepers Hands.

Let’s not even go with his JC move.....

Fine is not good enough! Even Burnley got rid of Joe Hart and Drinkwater....... Fine.

Generally agree Dunge.

It’s hard to judge all players like Tielemans, Praet, Thomas, Justin as they’ve all had either good spells in the team, or come in when it’s been bad. Could they do well in a performing team? I say yes.

Barnes is an enigma. He looks unbelievable for 10 minutes, and sometimes 60, but then goes missing for a whole game. I think if he’s coached correctly he’ll come good. Reminds me of Sterling who also couldn’t hit a barn door but has managed to find a way to score goals.

Other than that, our wide midfield have just let us down for too long. I don’t think Perez is a bad player as such, he’s just a bad player for us. Just can’t play in this formation or adapt to Rodgers style. Gray has had his chance (20 chances) and for me, Nacho too. I just don’t see players influencing the play in absolutely critical positions.

My issue is that to male Rodgers style work, we need players that can move the ball around fast, and also move themselves! Wide players to do this need to be top of the shopping list, and ship out those that just haven’t fit.

I think Chilwell and Soyuncu May move on this summer. They’re the ones the club are happy to let go. That means we would need to strengthen. There also. I fear Ndidi or Periera leaving. That would significantly weaken our team.

The only other position that I’d think about is a genuinely experienced midfielder. Someone who can hold our young team together. Someone like (but obviously not) Milner. Been there and can get us through tight games. Our Evans in midfield.

That can hopefully be enough to get us out of this rut we’re in. What is patently clear is that we need some signings to shake things up a bit. Restore belief to those that stay, and give them a kick up the backside as well.

Yes we’re missing players and that’s hurt us, but I see more worrying signs that that. I see a squad with its confidence on the floor. That doesn’t just get fixed because a couple of players return.

Massive summer.

Without reading further....... We are not an elite team that can pass from the back. Do you see Yoann t wat yesterday?

Not blaming Kasper as much as the idiot that makes him try to play that way.

Now if I can not cook a nice steak...... Teach me very well or bring a new chef.....

This restaurant manager needs to get a clue next season.

To be fair to Kasper, he made a ricket against Bournemouth but he was just trying desperately to force the game yesterday.

I agree though that Kasper has struggled with some of the distribution asked of him. Personally, I think we should stop that. Barcelona and Man City can get away with it and very few other teams. Even they mess up playing through the press sometimes.

There is a balance between playing out, and forcing the play. We haven’t found it.

Like said get a chef whom can cook steak or have him make a salad.

He $hits pants with the ball... I $hit my pants when he has the ball.

A well balanced view Cheesy.

As we can see from the other Top Clubs spending, we have a long way to go to catch up and they’ll keep on spending now FFP is toothless.

Some hard work ahead expanding the eleven to a squad.

Injuries - resulting in too much pressure on some young/Inexperienced players.

Lack of leaders on the pitch to guide and support younger/inexperienced players.

The answer to both of these is one and the same.

It is brilliant that we keep finding some quality from abroad, from the Lower leagues and from our youth.

But to consistently challenge for the top 6, we need to start being able to do something that we haven’t yet done in our history - and that is become a buying club of players who are already experienced in the PL and in their prime. This is extremely difficult for a club like us at the moment, but that is what will add belief, quality, depth and support to our team and will make us become viewed as more than ‘plucky underdogs’ to the status quo.

Youth prospects and purchases from abroad will only progress you for so long before you plateau again due to time needed to adjust at PL level or disruption through these players advancing so much at our club that they then want to move on.

We need players who are coming here because they want to play their prime years of football with us and not because they feel they owe us for progressing them/or because of what they’ve achieved here (perhaps like Ndidi, Vardy, Kasper, etc) but rather as an existing PL top quality player, they simply want to play for Leicester City.

Pearson instilled this at Championship level and slightly above with a group of players, we now need Rodger’s to do this with top end, experienced PL acquisitions. As mentioned though, this is going to be a difficult step for a club like us but if we can make it, that really could push us, prospectively, to the next level (which for me, would be challenging for top 6 on a regular basis)

I’d probably want us linked with players like:
Tarkowski
Ings
Dunk
McGinn
Cantwell
I think Norwood could do a job also
And although he’s had a poor season (head turned) - Fraser.
Possibly Hojbjerg
Perhaps Sarr as a punt

We aren’t really ready to go challenge for really top class PL players , but we are in a position to challenge for good players who are ready to go at PL level.

I agree with those, Deeney to me fits in as a good back up for Vardy and a plan b, the kind of player Slow could have been if he was any good

Not heard anything about Deeney’s attitude so can’t comment on that.
