THAT team would have been a match for any English team at the time. Typical Celtic though, blew the wad and couldn't build on it. What a squad though.

At that time there were a lot of crap English teams in the top 4. Man United and Arsenal were the only top teams in England.

"Fate wanted something else" - no, you just weren't good enough. No shame in that by the way, you did well with a very good team.

As to being in the 'top 4', sadly I don't think we'll ever know, but if Cardiff and Swansea can play in the Premier League, why not Celtic and Rangers?

Five stars for the great man himself, and for giving Liverpool a kicking at Anfield

As seen from Chelsea, Liverpool and other teams winning big cup competitions over the years. It doesn’t really mean much in terms of how good your team is. You can always put together a good cup run. Obviously we will never know how they would have got on in the league.

I see the next Liverpool manager is throwing players under the bus again. Morelos this time - before the game he was singing his praises, after it no acknowledgment when subbed and smart-arse comments about his head being turned. Players must hate him the way he never accepts responsibility. Hope he stays with rangers for a long time.

Celtic would easily be a top four team. The potential of Celtic would dwarf all your English teams. Its the reason the English dont let them in as they would go on to dominate that league.

Taking the final into extra time, yes it was a half decent run.

We were also regularly doing well in the CL, especially considering our resources.

Anyone who says that Celtic couldn't compete in England given time, and that the squad under O'Neil wouldn't have done well in England, is a moron not worth listening to.

Lmao what a moron, one good cup run (that they didn't even win) means you are better than the teams you best in that run. That settles it the , the Liverpool side with Djimi Traore Milan Baros in it is better than the legendary Milan side and Jose's Chelsea. Celtic would finish 10th, Rangers would be relegated.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

And still they continue to trot out, write their opinionated piish and utterly embarrass themselves with their complete lack of football knowledge.

ffs able

If Celtic were in the Premier league, within a few years they would undoubtedly be a force within the top 6.
This is a little different to saying that Celtic side, circa 2003, would have been a top 4 team in the Premier League.

Not really. Things were much more evenly balanced back then. We couldn’t afford premiership players but we could afford very good players and we had a scouting network better than most that unearthed the likes of Larrson. Chances are now a bigger team would have taken a gamble on him with far bigger incentives these days.
