Can't this is an A plan - no Pablo / 10 role?

This is why i posted. Bielsa likes the system just wondered what peoples thoughts are on it. Pablo is the one that i felt would lose out? Use him less frequently for more impact?
I'll swap Koch with Coops as i forgot Coops was left footed.

That’s one system option for some games. If it doesn’t work then it’s easy to go back to a flat back four and bring in Pablo or Rodrigo. We need options and we are slowly getting them.

have to agree there !! - just hard to imagine Beilsa setting up without a no' 10.. thats key to his "creating chances' stats

I think we will get more chances created from the wings in the Prem.

On another note Rumours circulating that we are possible making a bid for Bayern french midfielder Mickaël Cuisance

posted on 24/9/20

Cuisance is a talent for sure. Can really pass all the well, but can beat a man, play intricately and is very buccaneering.

For a counter attacking team, he is perfect.

A good prospect. I feel though having turned down admittedly a loan move back to his home country at Marseilles recently he may wish to stay at Bayern. No harm in asking the question though. You never know.

Where is £30m Rodrigo in this team ??

Because if he replaced bamford in that formation, there is zero goals on that side and we get relegated.

There isn’t enough goals as it is.

Don’t let 7 goals from nearly every chance we have had, mask this problem

posted on 24/9/20

Goals galore everywhere at the minute. Lack of fitness in general though out football?

Rodrigo looks like he's going to need a bit of time to get up to speed with our style, which for 30m, you'd expect to get that very quickly!

Saw someone post on Twitter the other day about what would happen when Llorente arrived, I said I have no idea but I know a man who will have

posted on 24/9/20

We are capable of using both formations and always will be. Bielsa sets up so that we are hardly effected by the change and the same 11 can play either. We often switch during a game. The reason for playing either formation is down to the number of strikers the opposition play. If they have 2 up top we play 3-3-3-1 & 1 up top we play 4-1-4-1. This all down to the man to man marking system with a spare centre back.

If we do play 3-3-3-1 Klich is likely to play either side of Phillips. Forshaw was used in this role last season before his injury. Bielsa will still want to play a 10 behind the striker.

Formations are not as simple as they used to be and a side will very rarely stick to it throughout a game. Often having a different shape on the ball & off it.

Having Ben White or Ayling in the back 3 is really important for it to work. You will see that one of the wide centre backs is free to overlap wide as well as carry the ball through the middle and continue the run into an attacking position. Phillips has to be aware of this and pick up that players man.

Not seen Llorente play but reading his stats would suggest he will be the most capable centre back we have of carrying the ball and getting forward similar to Ben White.

Koch is a good player on the ball but more of a passer than a ball carrier like White.

That ITK Spanish reporter (Guillame???) who's been
right on a lot of speculation, said that Llorente is a very
good player. Also mentioned that his long passing is
excellent. FWIW. Agree on Koch, plays well on the ball.

Don't get some of the negativity (not on here) toward
KP first two games. I think he's done well. His engine
is in the same realm as Klich & Ayling.

Might be being harsh here but don’t see Cooper in our starting line up. A good back up option, but his display vs Fulham left a lot to be desired. Again, only one game

Rodrigo, Roberts, Forshaw, Alioski, Douglas, Pablo, some of these guys will be very redundant this year, let alone the likes of Poveda, Shackleton, Struijk, Davis.

Struijk has looked good when played. Pablo, Rodrigo, Roberts, Shackleton, Poveda and Alioski will all have a part to play.

Excellent.

I did read the other day that MB tried to sign him
while managing elsewhere. Good enough for me.

depends on our injury situation. i'd hate to go any further into the season without at least three cb's.
i know bielsa likes a small squad but that's only if they stay impossibly healthy.

Is that true though? Villa seem to have spent a boatload on an already stocked team. They have 29 first team.

With the addition of Llorente, we now have 23. We're still strongly linked with De Paul. That makes 24 if it happens. And we are still linked with 3 or 4 others. Not sure all of those (or even De Paul) will pan out. But it looks like MB and the club have decided 'small' isn't exactly what we need.

good news. i guess the small squad thing was good enough for the championship.

Everyone always say something about Bielsa and his small squad, and like mont says, the same as the last 2 seasons it would seem!..

People should look at the players coming in and think on, Bielsa is one of those that's got a lot out of his teams/players throughout his management career, and the players coming in + what he has, it gives him more choices and better to rotate!..

We seem to be bringing enough in but since White going nobody else has gone, its a case of adding to what we have which means we must have more now!..
