Think we'll only go for him if we fail with our other targets.

Hope he stays at yours tho.

Upsides of Jorginho:

- Can be very useful when we need an outlet to build/play out from the back, moving into pockets of space to facilitate smooth transition.

- Sometimes a quality tempo-setter in possession when needed at certain moments of matches.

Downsides:

- Painfully slow
- Easy to play-off
- Guilty of bad positioning in defending wide & cutbacks.
- Limited awareness of opposition play out of possession often leads to exposed/wide open middle.

PL is not the right league for him

Yes the P/L is not for him, back in Italy with a slower pace and less physicality he is more suited.
Also I have seen him have some good games, but few and far between,

To managers like Sarri/Guardiola, a great metronome because of his intelligence when it comes to progressing attacks provided the team moves around him sufficiently. Won't spot the hollywood pass unless it's obvious (with exceptions like Abraham assist vs. Watford last season), but will play the right progressive pass most of the time. Perfect DM for possession based football.

To managers like Lampard, his calmness & composure on the ball breaks high presses. Although a brief cameo, Palace (A) last year showcased what he's about perfectly in 15 mins, they were on top of us but once he came on he controlled the midfield so well with simple one/two touch passes that they dropped back within 5 mins, abandoned pressing completely in our half. Tons of other examples but that's the most obvious/dramatic.

Defensively leaves WAY too much behind him in a mid 2, and does have a weakness for getting spun one vs. one by agile players, but other than that is a lot more solid than he's given credit for. Needs a compact team shape because he's slow (physically), but does the basics fine.

Gilmour's rapid emergence has made him slightly redundant to Lampard as he's more progressive in terms of breaking zones himself (more Kova like), but he's still a quality player - a niche player but a quality one. If the Arsenal interest is legit, to me it's a sign Arteta's becoming increasingly confident in Arsenal's team & might slowly move away from the pragmatic approach he's had up till now (and that Xhaka's time might be up).

I like Jorginho - but he definitely has his weaknesses. Especially in the fast moving Premier League. However, I don’t understand why we keep agreeing to sell to our competitors. If we want to sell him - let him go back to Italy.

Personally I like him. We don't have many leaders at the moment but he never hides, is quite vocal and takes responsibility.

harle, he's only 28 and you know full well you need to be 45 or over to obtain a transfer from Chelsea to Ar$enal!!!

Seems to be bringing more to the pitch than Thiago Silva
