It doesn't offend me at all but why?

----------------------------------------------

Because there was absolutely no need to bring Rashford's name up.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

In the context of tabloid outrage I felt there was given his recent profile but then when I think about it, posting it on a thread that's literally about a rumour, I realised it really doesn't matter at all.

Fingers crossed it’s not Greenwood but it does point in his direction given the that it seems to be coming from journalists in the area and the rather shock omission form the squad last week. Also, perhaps Ole’s out of character rant about the fixture schedule was more an attempt to draw attention away from Greenwood being left out ??

I think that point about Rashford was partially due to the fact we have already had discussions on here about how he is going to have to be squeaky clean, as the press would love to tear him down after his school dinners crusade. Pretty sure that Robbing was part of that debate.

Why does he have to be squeaky clean? After what he’s done I think the press could go to town but the public will cut rashford slot of slack.

Greenwood is having his Beckham moment, but instead of costing us a world cup the only crime Mason committed was showing how easy it is for pro-footballers to bed tasty Icelandic birds (as if we needed proof).

The club needs to protect him. Get him back in the XI whilst the fans aren't in the stadiums. Let him take some of the frustration out on WBA.

The press have proven time and time again that they love to tear down a hero. Eventually the public will give in to the bombardment of rhetoric.

That would be assuming raahford continually misbehaves or acts like a tw@t, dont see that happening

Me neither but the point made was that the press would be champing at the bit to tear him down.

Daily Mail reporting that it's a man in his 20s, so it ISN'T Greenwood.

Aren't these rumours based off dodgy looking Watsapp screen shots? Someone sent them to me earlier, doesn't look real to me.

The what's app screen shots are wrong about the dates and identify of the footballer involved. I'd be willing to bet they were only typed up after this story came out by attention seekers.

Excellent. They apparently know who it is but arent allowed to report.

People underestimate the importance of the sacrifices and the total dedication the guys that made it to the top had to make throughout their adolescent lives to get to where they were/are.

There were/are far more naturally gifted players than C.Ronaldo that probably never ended up becoming regular stop flight players.

Greenwood could just as easily become the next Ravel Morrison as he could the next Rooney. In fact, the smart money would be on him becoming the former rather than the latter based on his actions since he burst onto the scene last year.

Expect to see rumours starting to circulate on Twitter and Facebook about Greenwood faking his birth certificate and lying about his age...

The article said the player couldn't be named... Wouldn't that suggest his below 18 years of age anyway?

He's definitely in his 20s. That is actually stated in the headline from the first outlet to report it, and was confirmed to them by police. So it's probably VVD I guess, as he's in his 20s, well known and not on international duty.

They also stated the player was arrested on Wednesday, yet the OP said his source said Greenwood was arrested on Friday. Busby even linked an article that stated Wednesday.

However, i believe the age was added at a later time - probably due to the rumours saying it was Greenwood.
