I am backing Arteta and I think he has potential to be a top manager. However the performances (more so than the results) are testing my patience
Unless Arteta is supported more in the market and unless he becomes a little less stubborn in his tactics I think he will be finding his potential as a top manager at another club
I got a feeling we are his testing club and the next is where he realises his potential
10 games. 5 losses, it should have been 6 if Leeds knew how to finish. Outplayed in 90% of these games
Not even Messi or Ronaldo could turn things around single, and you expect Martinelli to turn things around by himself.
Mark my words guys and gals...Arteta has lost the dressing room. Auba has stormed off the pitch recently (vs Villa and Leicester). He looks frustrated (was a time he was trying to press and NO ONE pressed with him...he threw up his hads in frustration) and unmotivated (did not attack headers with any conviction vs Wolves). No longer do we see the energy he had leading up to the FA cup run.
I see players losing the ball and not chasing back...letting runners get by them again (look at Wolves first goal..Dendonker was allowed to run free for the header). I see players not putting in tackles (Bellerin and Holding are backing up like they are getting paid). Xhaka and Ceballos are back to playing their worst...but still get starts. them two cannot play as a double pivot. They are two far apart and both are not the most mobile.
I see players who are crap still starting week in week out (Willian, Bellerin) while others are punished (Lacazette). I see players who are touted to have massive potential (Saliba) not making it to the matchday squads and others completely left out for "footballing reasons" (Ozil).
We were only good defensively when we played as a unit who gave all for everything...currently, we look as bad as we did with Emery in his second season. Arteta can try change the formation and can try change the players...but I doubt anything will change. the first big games we have in the cup competitions will spell the end for us. Even if we revert to the 343...that has been found out. I predict us finishing outside European places this season...probably 8th is the very best we can hope for. I cant see us finishing above man city, pool, united, chelsea, spurs, Leicester, wolves. Throw in everton and Southampton, we could be looking at 9th.

If this is true the players seem to lose faith in the manager quickly and easily
The problem is not Arteta. The problem is that we have a squad that isn't good enough to compete for a EL spot let alone a CL spot. We have players on ridiculously High wages and so its almost impossible to get rid and the players we do have have no leadership skills and have weak mentality.
It will take time but until the board become more ruthless in the market we will not change no matter the manager we have. If we sack Arteta and get day pochettino in we will have the same conversation in 12 months about whether he should go for the exact same reasons
I truly believe Arteta will be a fantastic manager and when in a few years time when he's winning trophies with another club and is seen as one of the best, we will truly regret letting go of him if we did.
I think a time might have to come when Kroenke will have to accept he needs spend mega bucks to get the club back to where it should be. Then try and reclaim that by being a bit more tight in the market and savvy in then sponsorship deals
