I’m so happy we won. Feels like a miracle.

Right decision to give TL a rest?

That was a good win, very well deserved against a reasonably good Gary Rowatt set up. Well done the lads.

Definitely the right time to leave out Lawrence as I suggested pre-match. An attritional battle like today might not have suited him! Had he played like Holmes did today I think he would have attracted criticism - weak on the ball and awful decision making. Jozwiak has a real physicality to him and is tenacious on the ball and when defending. Now that Ibe is in the squad you would hope that there will be enough competition in the wide areas to keep the contenders for the wide positions on their toes.

Have to agree with you Vidals. Thought it had 1-0 Millwall written all over it.

I do feel like we have some foundations finally in terms of team shape. Really hoping Knight can grow into that number 10, 4-4-1-1 role.

Thought CKR was poor today and needs to play on the shoulder more, split those CB's, attack crosses and let Knight move in to that space between MF and DF.

Holmes' composure, Joz left peg. He ran a lot more than TL but was caught out of position a lot I thought, Millwall targeted our left side late on in the first half.

Shinnie put in the grunt shift very well today. Bielik thank f""k we have him, hope he can stay fit. Still think most teams are playing very passive football, if we can just step it up a tad.

Waggy looked up for it when he came on. Marshall game winning save early on.

Clucker. Meaning a hen.

A couple of times first half Joz dozed off and lost his man on a simple give and go, as did Holmes at least once, but Joz seemed to get more up for it the longer the game went on. CKR nearly held up the ball countless times, very frustrating from him. He’s a great lad but oh! for a proper centre forward.

Spart and VC hate Bielik but I think he could be an absolute colossus in there if he stays free of injury. He can control games. Shinnie was a good choice alongside him today. I see Knight as a 8 rather than a 10, he hasn't really got the creativity. Is Bielik/Knight/Sibley a possibility if we wanted to be more adventurous? I still think Bielik and Bird could anchor the midfield if we had the right balance ahead of them while Shinnie is the perfect ratter for games like today.

Wish he wasn't in such a hurry to get booked tho.

Bielik and Bird I lean towards.

Sibley looks like a bit of a Vydra type number 10, very direct, think we need a passer there, that's why I was hoping Knight can do that till January.

Feel like we need an Iniesta type player though. Protect the ball in tight spaces, take a man on only once, draw players, then split lines. Happy for them to play anywhere ahead of holding midfielder(s).

Feel like that type of player plus centre forward and WGT

Is Shinnie suspended now?

Yes he is.

Yoozee would fit the bill in that position.

As would Kaide Gordon judging from last night’s performance.

You think? He is very one footed, takes too many touches, doesn't look up or scan.

Maybe I'm being a grump.

My mental health is doing a lot better after 3 points though.

He played well Vidals??? Will have a goose at the game.

I don't hate Bielik, I just think he was an expensive player who hasn't done enough yet, I'll be pleased to be proved wrong.

However if anyone was right about that weedy, lazy little git it was me. He finally gets dropped and we win...then we hear he has been rested...how can you rest when you haven't put any effort into the game for years. Some say sell him, but as we know no one would pay any money, so tell him to clear off.

VC, the thing about footy is it is almost impossible to be “proved wrong”. That’s why we are all such experts.

Who said he'd been 'rested'?

Oh you meant Hughes....

Sorry thought you were talking about Joz. I'm okay with Hughesy and his mate Yooozeee

Mainly to annoy VC I would advocate Lawrence playing against Brentford. It’s a game we are quite likely to lose, so obviously it well then be all his fault. Joz upped his performance today after being left out and maybe the same might happen with Lawrence. Holmes probably deserves to be “rested”. Another 90 minutes might be too much for CKR so Waghorn may well start.

Marshall
Byrne Davies Clarke Buchanan
Bielik Bird
Lawrence Knight Jozwiak
Waghorn

55 or possibly now 56 league games we've not fielded an unchanged side. Now would be a good time to break that run and stick with the same side for Brentford in my opinion.

If a change is necessary, Waghorn for Holmes possibly?
