You travel in packs, it may or may not of been you, but the point remains.

You can’t dismiss someone else’s points with select studies then do the exact same in rebuttal.

You have a group who want the police abolished, and do this via riots, idiotically ironic way of showing society why a police force is needed.

Lunatics the lot of you

*Makes sweeping generalisation about a group of individuals who don’t know each other

*Goes on a rant about a completely distinct political issue which hasn’t been mentioned once in the conversation

*Refers to others as lunatics

Be a brave man to say slavery and racism are not one in the same in the US.

But, usually a lower (perceived) ethnic group were enslaved by another ethnic group primarily due to their....race.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not a brave man but a complete moron.

Usually doing a lot of heavy lifting in your second sentence. Slavery has actually been a common means of punishment used by many civilisations through the ages. Many Roman slaves were Roman citizens, for example. Indentured labour, which is how many people in Britain first went to America, was itself a form of slavery often imparted as a sentence for criminal offences.

You simply do not know that the pyramids were built by foreign rather than Egyptian slaves or even forced conscripts.

The fact that you are still trying to make the racist link to the pyramids only serves to highlight your stupidity, not other people’s hypocrisy.

“Ah so because the pyramids are old doesn’t make them any less racist. Got it.”

The pyramids aren’t racist, Jim - and I know this is going to be tricky for you, so bare with me - because they are inanimate, unthinking, unfeeling, apolitical objects made of facking granite and limestone.

They don’t discriminate against their visitors on the grounds of race, nor do they hold adobe or sandstone pyramids in contempt.

They aren’t protected, visited or celebrated to venerate a racist, slave owning or genocidal individual or individuals. They’re just there. Spectacular and unique.

A statue of Winston Churchill exists explicitly and uniquely to adulate the man.

Rosso

You’re a clown of the first grade

You realize in your description of the pyramids you also described perfectly a statue

But you don’t like this statue because it’s of someone you dislike.

The pyramids which you pointed out, like the statue, are inanimate objects are a tomb and a remembrance of the pharaohs and family within.

Now, no pharaohs in that time did anything remotely wrong did they?

Getting your hypocrisy yet?

Correction: Will furiously type on Twitter in support of the other side.
Not a chance someone like Rosso will go to the battlefield.

I haven’t said anything about Churchill beyond stating an historical fact about a decision he made leading directly to the starvation of three million people.

You have no idea how I feel about him because I haven’t expressed an opinion.

As it happens, I don’t support the toppling of his statue. Maybe consider reading what people have actually written before starting to throw insults around.

I was pointing out that it is a) nonsensical to consider an inanimate object racist, and b) illogical and inutile to compare an ancient edifice celebrated for its majesty and the feat of engineering that it represents with a modern statue designed and used explicitly and solely to celebrate an individual.

Why would he? He’ll be in portugal chilling out, laughing as people like you are brainwashed into fighting for some rich peoples interests in the name of Britain

What is it with right wingers and their love for war? Is their diiick so small that they get a kick out of cheering to kill other people?

Directly?

Was he responsible for the Japanese invasion of Burma and the mass refugee situation in India?

Was he responsible for the poor harvest that year?

He diverted resources to the military, like every military leader in history has done in war time.

But carry on with your rhetoric.

You’ve dismissed scientific studies that the lockdowns will have done more long term damage than covid could have because you care for the few. So no doubt you’d rather the allies lost world war 2 so the bengals famine didn’t happen, atleast wasn’t as bad with some extra grain from Britain.

Wow.

I’m not going to respond to the ad hominem parts.

“You realize in your description of the pyramids you also described perfectly a statue.”

If you are asking whether I recognise that statues are also inanimate objects and as such do not have the capacity to be inherently racist, then yes. Accusing a statue of racism would be equally as insensible as accusing a pyramid of racism.

“But you don’t like this statue because it’s of someone you dislike.”

I haven’t expressed an opinion on the statue or on Churchill.

“Now, no pharaohs in that time did anything remotely wrong did they?”

Totally facking irrelevant, and I see that you are still categorically failing to grasp the salient point which is that:

- Pyramids are visited and celebrated because they are magnificent, unique feats of engineering.

- Pyramids are not, ever, by anyone, ever, visited to commemorate or celebrate those who conceived of their construction.

- Statues of historical figures exist, solely, to venerate those individuals. They are not visited and admired for any other reason. They represent nothing more than the woman or man, and their words and actions.

Churchill is and will always be a legend, how people have turned him into a racist is beyond belief, if we’d lost the war how do you think life would be now!

posted on 12/12/20

No one has turned him into a racist, he literally was racist and that's not up for debate. I honestly don't know why that upsets some people.

Would be great if everything was so black and white, wouldn’t it?

It is possible to:

- recognise that his leadership had a huge part to play in defeating the Axis powers;

- and also recognise that he was a racist.

Those two points aren’t really even arguable.

Just because the first is true doesn’t mean that the second can’t be or shouldn’t be recognised or discussed.
