without checking all the possible ties we could have got, i'd have thought a team top of la liga, with 1 league defeat in 13, is as tough as it could have got. bummer.
I'm happy with that draw. Let's see where we're at by then. Second leg is on Mrs DC's birthday though so some careful planning has to be made for that.

The knockout tie with PSG was on my Mrs birthday the other year. Ended up watching it silently on my phone and going nuts at the end. She wasn’t happy . Mind you, she never is 😐

very thoughtful of you!
well, we only have ourselves to blame, but we have arguably a tougher draw than 2 of the English CL clubs. rotten record vs spanish clubs too. can't honestly say i know much about sociedad, and whether they really are one of the top 3 or 4 clubs in spain, or have just had an easyish start to the season...at the very least our chance to play the kids in the EL has probably gone.

Spurs getting the easiest tie.
Probably the second toughest side you could’ve faced. Not a game where you can really rest players for in either tie
I don’t really care about us in the EL this season so a tough tie is probably better for us. Rather see what we can do against a team with some quality and likely be knocked out that continually playing dross each round and not really caring.
But who knows what state we’ll be in by the time these games come round?
Least we are out nice and early.
Expect us to be well in the title race come these ties so we should be fielding a second side in the Ropey.

But you would have just moaned even had we qualified to the CL knockout rounds and then moaned when we eventually got knocked out. There is literally no scenario other than us winning every single title available where you wouldnt moan like a little b-tch
