Is he still swimming at old trafford?
Not seen any of the ones tonight but I hate it when our players dive. I know it's part of the game now, but I don't like it at all.
he definitely needs to work harder. at his diving i mean.
Has anyone been booked for diving recently? Can’t remember the last time it happened.

Dan James did a couple of weeks back. I think against Leeds maybe?
Bizarrely it was after smashed in the face. Reputation precedes him.
Fred got booked for diving in last seasons 2-0 win when he got kicked in the box. You see plenty of players get booked for diving after being fouled as refs want to make a name for themselves.
He joined the club of awful dives
Other members include Mane, Salah and Kane

True.
Seriously though, its a side of the game i hate but its rife. Its been made worse by VAR which only reinforces a position where any sort of contact is deemed a foul.
Before, refs could use their judgement as to whether contact was enough to be a foul. Now when VAR reviews a situation, if there is any contact (regardless of the degree, or intent ) then they will not over rule a decision or will deem that contact as a foul.
This has defo filtered into the mind of refs who now apply this approach themselves across the whole pitch. Any contact is a foul. Grealish annoys me massively but Kane is going down the same route of earning FKs all over the pitch by going down under any contact.
Its also created a situation where you have to go down to get the foul, so players are constantly hitting the deck. Its filtered in to defenders too who will exaggerate contact in the hope that a review will see a foul given.
Players and managers will always exploit situations to their maximum gain so the more soft refs become, the more players will dive and exaggerate.
I find all diving embarrassing.
As I said last night though, what is also ridiculous is that had that been a rival player, there would be some people on here saying he has every right to go down if he thinks he's been fouled (see Salah and a touch on his shoulder).
Football fans should be roundly mocking all footballers for this sort of cheating, not doing so for everyone else other than their own team.

SO true. And the commentators are just as bad...Kane is "so clever" at earning free kicks according to pundits but the average fan, even Spurs fans, just find it an awful blight on the game.
BTW....only a fool will ever expect a LFC fan to be critical of theirown players. According to them Salah never dives and Suarez isnt a biting racist. Always innocent, never their fault.

The likes of Owen and Lineker telling us that strikers are entitled to go down is not helping.
A challenge either knocks you over or it doesn't. It really is that simple.

There is something in the mindset of most strikers, even the ones i play with/against in an over 40's weekly roll-up/friendly Vets league. They dont like contact, they fall over easily, have a low pain threshold and yelp as they hit the deck....even 50 year old fathers of 4 As a defender this mindset does not compute with me.
Lineker and Owen were going down under little pressure or contact decades ago.
right on cue.....

It's so odd isn't it - I was always taught not to show pain as it shows weakness, on the pitch I mean.
There are people on this forum who genuinely believe it is a player's right to decide they have been fouled and throw themselves to the floor to help the referee notice. It's bizarre.

Kane is one of the biggest cheating baaastards there is. He’s an utter disgrace, but to a lesser degree so are our on rashford, the Liverpool pair, etc. I hate this part of the game, and england as a team are chock full of diving cheats, hence why we get so many pens.

Is Pogba giving classes on this...?
Got it perfect with the merest of touches last week, & then gave Shaw a bollicking ten minutes later for not diving
Needs to take him & Martial aside for extra lessons
fackin disgrace
