The imbeciiles at the club who were responsible for offering him the terms of his contract deserve to be sued.
Ozil has the greatest agent in football history. Couple that with an abysmal board and it's a match made in heaven🤢😵🤮
He was part of a big reason for ending the trophy less run which went on for ages. Overall disappointed IMO. However Arteta and co won’t be forgiven for the mistreatment, despite the worst run in nearly all of the clubs history.
Thank god it’s finally over
Glad it will finally be over and we can move on. Hes been handled badly and is a player who needs to feel loved to get the best out of him. The big contract obviously has its critics, but a the time it was given it was to reflect footballing ability AND merchandising. He has/had more followers on social media than Arsenal. He brought a lot to the club off the pitch, even if not as much on the pitch as people expected.
I remember his first goal for the club against Napoli and typically in terms of technique the way he finished the chance it was superb that was him from a technique/ability standpoint you couldn't fault him ultimately other areas of the game he simply could not do. If he's honest with himself the last couple of years where he played was simply not good enough for a player on the amount of money he was on. I do question why he didn't leave last summer he must of known he had no future at the club. Ever since what happened at the last world Cup I do question whether he even really wants to play anymore.
Bye bye Ozil

I've not seen anywhere what the deal is here, any good rumours about what the severance is costing the club?
Ozil himself tweeted ‘67’ a few mins ago which was rumoured to be his squad number for the rest of this season so it seems like it is finally done

Dunno, as far as it's being reported he's allegedly falling on his sword and waiving 7 mil wages to leave. But that little fecker and his media machine do sod all but lie to make him look good so I don't trust that too much. Probably find that itself is true, except he's getting some 12 mil payoff another way to do it. Just that bit's not being reported. A condition of him agreeing to it, he gets to look some heroic hard done by.

FECK YOU MESUT! Is and forever will be, far more appropriate.
This is not a player to be affectionately nostalgic about, speaking of ups and downs, like they were near even on the scales. There was one "up" his first season-season and a half. Then nothing but "downs" for the 5 and half seasons following. He handicapped the team on the pitch and hamstrung the budget off it.
He's the most damaging player of the PL era (at least) at Arsenal FC. And should be remembered as nothing more than an awful memory and a cautionary tale for the future of why you don't pay big money for/to or attempt to build your team around selfish, gutless little s. No matter how many shirts they sell or twitter follower butt lickers they have.
Nothing to thank that fecker for. Well not unless you're feckin Spurs fan anyway.

No need now, he's leaving and this particular form of illness I suffer will be leaving right along with him.
It'll be so much fun to go back to just disliking a player a bit for mistakes or being a tool. I can live with that but I despise players who won't give 100% most of the time (can all have bad days/runs). But there's been something particularly contemptible about the way Ozil refused to do that. It'd be so in a pub side, fact he got paid 70 mil to make an effort just makes it worse.
Most of all, it'll be great to see the Ozil tumor finally excised and the team rapidly become healthier for it

Listen fanboy, I don't know Donald Trump either but I hate his guts too, why? I get disliking a player...trust me..I dislike Willian and Nketiah...but no where on the level you dislike Mesut.
There is always more than one side to the story. If I were you, I'd be looking waaaay past Ozil for the real issue with his tenure at the club. Here's why:
We bought a player...the best in his role at the time. Did we give him the best platform to perform on? I would say no. Ozil is NOT the player who elevates a team by himself. Ozil is the final piece to the puzzle...the key in the ignition who completes it all. Arguably, I don't think he has ever consistently had a platform to work from that suites him. The first 2 years maybe? But losing Cazorla destroyed Ozil too. Xhaka is too slow and not mobile enough. Ozil cannot play in the same team as Xhaka versus pace and power.
Secondly...that contract. I dont blame Ozil for it and for staying. I would too. Why would I move on and lose out on money...a lot of money? I am actually shocked he is leaving now...and maybe that speaks to the fact that he HAD thought he would have been playing or given a chance...until he was not named in the squads and now he is leaving to get another shot at playing. The issue with the contract lies with Arsenal. How the faaaakc did we let Sanchez and Ozil get to 6 months left on their contracts????!!!! And why did we never push on to buy players who complimented both of them?? After RvP...we had not outstanding striker to play with these 2 guys. And a slow midfield and leaky defence. Again.. it's likebuying a convertible, leaving the roof down in the rain and them complaining the interior got ruined. We bought a player, did not build a system to bring out the best in him, then faaaaked up his contract situation and now we hate him??? The fingers should be pointed firmly to the club.
Now back to my point with players like Nketiah and Willian. I cannot stand them. They add next to nothing to the team. Yet they still play. I would argue Ozil out wide would do better than Willian. Yet one has been starting games and the other is at home. So there is a problem with man management that you cannot ignore
