Thanks for the article 2W. Summed up how I feel too.

After the resurgence of when Rooney took over around 9 weeks ago we seem to have slipped back into our Cocu ways.ie slow and with little idea.
Yes, Rotherham came with a game plan and we had no way of combating it. We got sucked into their game as we did against the Wendies and ended up paying for it. Yes their goalie was the busier but if you dont score you dont win.
Kazim was totally isolated, midfield generally non existent and all over the park we were sloppy, slow and unable to move the ball around quickly or with any purpose.
Did we deserve to lose....again no - but we did (again).
The club owners/new owners really need to get their collective fingers out and move this club forward or it's going to be a long and painful winter....

The people to blame for our demise are still at the club. They are Steve McClaren and Mel Morris. Our demise started in January 2015 with the loan signings of Ince and Bent. They both may have been talented players but didn't seem to be the type of team players who had performed so well the previous season. The gung ho attacking style McClaren had introduced depended a great deal on the attacking players doing their bit once we lost the ball. The result was that after Martin's injury we conceded as much as we scored. Unfortunately we also introduced a new habit of signing players for high fees and high wages.

After the sacking of McClaren which we didn't need to do, we could have received some compensation from Newcastle, Morris has made several poor management appointments, Clement, Pearson and Cocu being the worst, and McClaren's reappointment the most ridiculous. Oddly enough this second appointment was the only time Ince showed his value to the team. I don't think they allow enough words to list the number of poor signings made since January 2015.

Our demise has been somewhat disguised by Vydra having one of his occasional good seasons and Frank Lampard applying sticking plaster with some quality loans. It hasn't been helped by selling off our best players for a fraction of their market value. Now we are gambling that some of the academy players can make the step up but statistically it is likely that most will never make the grade.

In short as with all our slumps in the past, this situation has been the result of poor management decisions.

I think Sam Rush was behind the transfers and his connection with his agency meant we ended up with the square pegs in round holes players that no man could fashion a team out of.

Clement I think didn't know enough about the team when BJ and Butters were signed that for me was the beginning of Mel's problems. I think Mel came in with his lead boots on, he seems to have pulled some impressive strings since to try and get us out of the quagmire (that ultimately he created).

Think a few of us if we made billion's in business and suddenly owned our club, might have done the same, equally some of us might have been humble enough to democratise the running of the club a bit better.

For me I just want to know where we stand, if we've been done over by Abu Dhabi or not and do we have any other options to avoid administration.

Back to the team though. There's no one apart from CKR that can actually handle the ball under pressure. I feel like if one of Knight, Shinnie or the wide men could do this, we'd have more options especially when under the cosh or fiddling about in first and second gear.

Spart...as usual I agree with you entirely, the rot started when Ince and Bent arrived and has more or less continued. We've spent too much money on disinterested and not good enough players. I don't need to name them.

Well we're letting go of one player who was captain material (often captained his old clubs) and can handle the ball under pressure, and organize a team, apparently just because he had a rough first few games.

I seem to remember Stimac looking shaky at the back on his first outing too, but we stuck with him and were rewarded for it.

Some of the decisions at this club I'll never understand.

Dutch Mike certainly appears to be a better defender than the last European import - Albentosa. Real shame as I had hopes his leadership qualities would be beneficial to us. I half expected his start to be slow similar to Shinnie. I guess with Cocu getting sacked, Dutch Mike not favoured under the new management it was time to head back and be given first team opportunities.

It's clear that Rooney has got the type of job to do that Nigel Clough was brought in to do, find raw talent and decent cheap Championship players. That got me thinking what type of player could we really do with right now from Clough's era and the name that sticks in my head is Jamie Ward.

I'd love a player of his quality (and his WUM antics) at our club. Chips in with goals, team player and a decent individual.

There are rumours of us getting Alex Pritchard in a swap for Holmes. Pritchard was a fantastic prospect till he did his cruciate and like the lovely Will he hasn't been the same since.

Pritchard would be interesting.

Would he be on loan?

They are saying a swap for Holmes, so we will see.

DET saying unlikely. I have just been told some deeply distressing gossip about what is going on financially behind the scenes and I very much hope that it's wrong.

Most likely that's the truth.

Yes Pritchard was suggested as a swap - I'd prefer the cash 750k - 1million. No doubt we're desperate for the £££.

Pritchard was highly thought of but injury and I think his preference to be closer to the south means it's probably best we move on from this one.

I think time and again we've made the similar mistake - signing players in the 26 + age bracket from the Championship to then leave for free who haven't really done it.

Time to look at the lower divisions, do some due dil, establish their mentality, hunger and desire to succeed at a higher level.

You have my email Vidals...I can be discreet.

About the football too.

I am fearing the worst myself since they weren't paid for the second time running.

And yet Rooney still signed a two and a half year deal? Surely either he was not informed and/or there will be breach of contract. He must have gone into this with eyes open so just what don't we know?

So worst case scenario we're skint no saviour.

Administration, deduction, fire sale won't cover costs, debt repayments.

Is this the end as we currently know it??
