Should be done for both legs. Otherwise it’s not fair. And without fans it shouldn’t matter
---------------------------------------------------------------------
It kind of does matter. If it’s possible it’s far better to play a game where it’s supposed to be played, there’s no point having more travel than necessary and no need to involve the extra logistics of playing at someone else’s stadium if you don’t need to.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Essentially it’s given one team an advantage due to circumstances out of neither teams control, ergo to be fair both ties should be moved.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Yes, just like a player getting a red card is outside a clubs control (since they can't actually control the actions of an individual) but the club still has to deal with it and take the punishment.

UEFA has always taken a dim view of governmental interference in football and so will look at it as Leipzig's issue.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah but at the start of the game both sides have an equal number of players. If one gets sent off so be it. At the start of this tie though one team has a disadvantage, I’d say the same if the tables were turned.and Liverpool were told to find a neutral venue. It’s not a slight against you lot, as it’s also out with your control too. Just strikes me as slightly unfair for one side.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Yes but the player is then banned for future games through no fault of the club directly. It isnt particularly fair but it was agreed by the clubs taking part

The restrictions are in place until the 17th Feb, so could UEFA not rearrange the fixture to a day later perhaps?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I am not sure they can. It would then create a clash with the matches scheduled for the 17th and I think UEFA set out the tournament to keep certain sets of matches apart to maximise coverage.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
They have done it previously though with other fixtures that have been postponed I believe? Did they not rearrange Man City vs BMG when that was called off due to the weather around Manchester and they then played the game the next day?

Do correct me if I'm wrong though.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes mate you are right. I actually got into the stadium and bought some food before it was called off.
Due to heavy rain and flooding in Manchester .
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So in this instance could they not just move it to the 17th to resolve this issue potentially? I think Leipzig are talking about moving the fixture to the week after if possible.

Brighton!?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Sheffield United.

Can do this all day...
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Was asking why you were crying.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Was just mocking your pathetic argument about Liverpool and general whining about life not being fair.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Wow. So making a fair point about the tie being unbalanced because of things out of either clubs hands is whining? You are a prize plonker.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You talk as if this is the first time it's ever happened. Haven't a bunch of the Russian and Ukrainian clubs had to have 'home' games in neutral venues?

You are only whining about it because it's advantageous for Liverpool.

Dunno why Man U fans can’t focus on their upcoming Europa league matches without casting their eyes towards a tournament they have nothing to do with.

FWIW I have no idea why they’ve got in that tournament, nor do I care.

I think I've found out why the game cannot be played the day after because it is UEFA rules that clubs must be in the country at least 24 hours prior to kick off.

Maybe requesting to move it to the week after would be a good idea if UEFA approve of that.

Can we switch the home leg as well to a neutral venue? Might mean we actually score a goal!
