I don’t know why people are so surprised any of the new CB’s aren’t playing. A lot of our signings don’t feature that much the first season they’re here, so they were never likely to feature after a week.

I’m sure if Kabak had somehow fitted in seamlessly during training he may of started, but it’s asking a lot. Davies is a last resort back up.

To be fair to them both it’s a big call to say play against city in a must win game for your debut after a few days training

That doesn't always mean throw them in at the deep end straight away where they might get caught out against an opponent like this. Not everybody can be like Van Djik unfortunately who can effortlessly slot into the team straight away.

Imagine how the players' confidence may be damaged if they are thrown in too early and end up getting exposed at every opportunity today. Play with caution, make sure something is taken from the game and then look at the bigger picture.

Curtis has got to track back well today. Can’t be leaving Henderson exposed against multiple City runners.

Kabak certainly, but the bloke probably needs more than a week to settle in.

Davies imo, is here to make the numbers up just in case two of Hendo, Fab and Phillips get injured.
