Another boring unambitious 0-0 will do for me.

Then go for the extra points in the three following games against Blackburn, Rotherham and the sheep.

An unusually ambitious loss will do for me!

It’ll all come down to tactics, we’d be foolish to take them on at their own game. Like, passing the ball accurately and finding a team mate.
Could be ugly, but that’s the only way to beat Swansea.

First and foremost we must do better than our last visit to Swansea. A point tomorrow would be awesome, a win almost unthinkable, however this is the championship and anything is possible. Swansea are excellent if you let them play at their pace, but do what the Wendies did, close them down, frustrate them and hit them on the counter, but one thing is for sure scoring chances for us will be at a premium, if we do create we must convert. Defensively, recently we have been much improved, but our midfield can be cut through all to easily. I imagine CH will play one up top with us trying to make play in midfield difficult. The longer we can frustrate Swansea the better our chances. Tbh I don’t see us winning, maybe a draw, though I doubt it will be 0-0, but as stated earlier in the thread a defeat with a strong performance, so long as it’s not a heavy defeat could be acceptable. Hopefully 1-1, realistically probably 2-1 Swansea.

I actually think we’ll get the win tomorrow

Since we pretty much played the top six back to back we’ve played 11 league games: W5 D5 L1 - PPG 1.82

Average that out to the rest of the season and we end up on 64 points. Yes, I am aware we still have the top 5 to play (with four of those back to back).

Carry current form on until the end of the season

6th - Bournemouth are: W3 D3 L5 PPG 1.1 = 65 Pts
7th - Cardiff are: W4 D2 L5 PPG 1.3 = 64 Pts
8th - Boro are: W4 D1 L6 PPG 1.2 = 62 Pts
9th - Stoke are: W2 D6 L3 PPG 0.7 = 53 Pts
10th - Blackburn are: W4 D2 L5 PPG 1.3 = 62 Pts
16th - Derby are: W7 L4 PPG 1.9 = 66 Pts
17th - Forest are: W5 D5 L1 PPG 1.8 = 64 Pts

So, Derby clinch 6th?!?!??!

Are we going to allow that to happen?!
Are we going to play for a draw?!
Are we going to gift Derby the league?!

Obviously the form table is just the form table. The league table is what really counts, but, if I was CH I’d have this pinned to every wall.

Somehow beat Swansea and we could be 10 points off 6th. Let’s show that ugly boil of a manager how it’s done!!!

Had we beaten Bournemouth on Saturday and we were to follow it up with a win this evening, we’d be 6 points off 6th place. Something to think about.

Incidentally, I see Mick McCarthy has got Cardiff firing on all cylinders after just a handful of games.
Not so long back, 20th Jan they were only 4 points ahead of us and we were catching them up.

I'm not sure a defensive midfiled pairing of Cafu and Garner will be up to it tonight. We need either Yates or Sow or preferably both to come in and rattle them a bit in that area.

Also the front four (Knockaert, Krov, Freeman, Murray) doesn't looked balanced to me.

Don't know what the answer is. I can't make up my mind who is the best to pay behind the striker.. Cafu? Garner? Krovinovic? Freeman?

Problem is red, we really don’t have an answer to the threat of a highly impressive Swansea side. We’re gonna have to trust to physicality and luck because we are deserving underdogs this evening. I think we can get a result though, strangely enough. 🤔

I don't expect Murray to start tonight, or if he does, not to play more than 10 minutes of the second half.
The problem with our new look midfield is a lack of goals. Can't rely on a 37 year old especially against Swansea. I expect Krovinovic to tuck in behind the striker and wouldn't be surprised if Grabban starts upfront.
Swansea have only lost 4 games, but surprisingly 3 of them were against Derby, Huddersfield & Boro' so they can have a off day!

As can any side on any day, but Swansea are not infallible by any means and can make mistakes. We just need to be on our game when they do because they just don’t make many.

Happy with that line up.

Riberio at LB,
Lolley in the hole? Krov and knock on the wings 👍

Riberio is an absolute liability, shame he only got a 3 game ban and not 33.. Don’t understand CH picking him, otherwise looks ok, still don’t see us getting much out of this one.

posted on 17/2/21

Bit harsh Dave. Lots of fans were saying the same about Figs a few weeks ago and he’s been very good recently. Ribiero is a good player, better going forward than Bong and defended well under Lamouchi.

Saying that, against Swansea I can’t see us getting much either. Think they and Brentford are certs to go up

Ribs hasn’t played as well as he did last season, but that line up looks ok. I hope Mighten gets a run out to give us a bit of pace.
