In my opinion, our best players are the ones who are not currently playing. When they are out injured or on the bench they become really good! Don't know why that is.

I remember our best player of the last 20 years was Darren Fletcher in the 2009 CL final that he missed. He became the best midfielder in the world in that match that he missed and would have won us.

He is a good player and improves us, but no more than some others. Fernandes has been far more influential for example.

Not disagreeing completely with you here.
However we say fernandes is "more influential" but when broken down I'm not so sure he is better than Pogba. I think Pogba is the better player.
Fernandes has the goals and assists but is given a free role up front and has the penalty taking duties. Whereas Pogba has a more defined role and got stick for not defending or tracking back.
Fernandes tries the first time ball and loses it more often than not. Pogba is much harder to get of the ball and holds it better and has better or at least same passing ability (better imo).
For me a fit Pogba in the fernandes role is the better player
