Cant punish them for exploring new avenues. They havent done anything wrong
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Was just about to put this. Football has been about nothing but money since the PL and CL started, and the organisations responsible for both have squeezed ever penny they can out of it for themselves. Their reactions over the last 24 hours have been nothing but sheer panic at the possibility of losing their respective cash cows. Any rhetoric about the good of the game is just hypocritical BS.
The clubs were well within their rights to cut out the middle man in UEFA, the massive and costly error they made was to eliminate the competitiveness element with regards promotion and relegation. I suspect that this was actually driven by those responsible for financing it, they’re only interested in seeing the top teams play each other.

There won’t be any punishments ffs. It was only a proposal, they didn’t go through with it.
FIFA, EUFA and PL were probably sh#tying bricks the whole time, despite the brave face. They won’t do anything upset them further
If you don't punish the clubs, these owners will just try something similar in the future. We've already seen project Big Picture fade into the background prior to this.
There needs to be consequences to prevent future attempts to close shop. Otherwise it will all happen again down the line.

Not a particularly big fan of punishing people because of wrongs they planned to do but didn't actual go through with.
Is saying they are going to break away an offence of anything, or not unless they actually do it?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It’s the fact you’ve gone against authority by threatening to break away the very structure which made the game what it is today. It’s like planing a coup, whether you go through it or not, they still have to be punished for getting this far
----------------------------------------------------------------------
But what law or regulation is that against?
They'll be dishing out punishments and then come to us and decide we get punished enough as it is - "Lads, it's Spurs!".
I’m not suggesting they get away with this, but it should come in the form of punishing the owners. 50+1 now essential for me. Government need to pass the legislation ASAP

This is the best suggestion. Now is the perfect time to go through with it, but we all knows it’s never gonna happen

What law says you cannot have another competition running alongside any existing competitions. Seems like the Prem, UEFA, Sky don't want any competition that upsets their stranglehold over the game.

This.
The fans are parrots and are repeating what others are saying. The owners of those clubs doing what is best for their clubs.
i wouldn't punish the teams because it's only going to hurt you guys. the owners maybe could be flogged or stoned a little. nothing too serious.
Fans and players of these clubs have helped stop the super league. Seems harsh that they shd suffer.

Fans & players should be rewarded in fact. I'd like to suggest a guarantee of UCL qualification, maybe for 20 years or so. I'm just spit balling
Massive fines for me, that should be given to charity and to clubs down the football pyramid who are struggling due to Covid.
Handing out relegations or points deductions would just devalue to competition.
Make some of the owners get involved in Marcus Rashfords food distribution program.
Or be locked in a cell and watch endless replays of Arsenal v Fulham
The punishment should be that no one owner can have a majority share of any club. Like Germany 51 % should go to the fans.
