Vietto could well be another Baptistao!
Vietto has already had a far better season than any season Baptistao has had.
Good to see Hull have suddenly realised they are actually quite a good team, hopefully capable of stopping Sheffield Wednesday getting promoted
Yep I'd like to see Hull go up
Wednesday
You cool
Just on the way to church...feeling still drunked but needs must as I'm gonna be a gkdparent
Good mate
Oh you'll be belting out the hymns
Toulouse have pulled it off
Can't believe it
My hometown club
Reims form didn't really dip though, they even beat Lyon 4-1 last night, Toulouse had the 2nd best record in the final 10 games i believe
or 4th maybe, think Lyon and PSG were behind Lille
Lost 4 games in a row before last night. That's what did them in.
bt they've been doing that all season so it wasn't a surprise, the surprise was Toulouse getting points week in week out!
Either way it was Reim's position to throw away with 5 games to do.
Not sure it was tbh given their fixtures, the defeat to Troyes the only unexpected result whereas Toulouse managed points away to St Etienne, Bordeaux and Marseille and in general had a much more favourable set of fixtures to end the season with them having the likes of Caen, Bastia, Troyes at home
Every team other than PSG in that league is very much beatable, and Marseille aren't even that good of a side any more. Mid table at best this season.
If they could put 4 past the 2nd place team, they could've got a few more points from the 5 games prior, especially considering the lead that they had. No matter how you try to swing it, it was Reims who lost it.
I disagree, as does the entirety of France!
Lyon had already secured 2nd too and didn't bother showing up
It wouldn't be considered a great escape by Toulouse if they were expected to finish above Reims, would it?
L'equipe actually dubbed the new Toulouse manager 'Dieupraz'
Not to mention he promoted the likes of Blin, Lafont, Diop and started to get the best out of Ben Yedder and Braithwaite
very much seen as Toulouse achievement over here
Toulouse were obviously expected to finish above Reims at the start of the season, they weren't expected to lose only 2 of their final 10 games, whereas Reims were expected to lose the majority
Whether they were expected to finish above them at the start of the season or not is not at all relevant, though.
The fact is, they were 10 points adrift when Dupraz came in and they managed to claw back 11 points against Reims. Some achievement, yes. However, no matter how poor your form has been, losing a 10 point lead cannot be seen as anything other than throwing away a great position.
Ask anyone what they remember about the 95/96 Premier League season. Do they remember a fantastic Man Utd victory against the odds or Newcastle throwing away a 12 point lead?
its different when you're at the top and expected to win games, Reims are the complete opposite
