I want stones back against us though, joke of a defender

Will be interesting to see if Fernandinho gets played there or if Garcia gets a chance

Fernandinho is training there, but he hasn’t played back to back games since feb

City’s spending this Jan will make it the mother of all windows

Expect them to be quoted 100 for any half decent cb

Wonder if they’ll go all out for Koulibaly or Umtiti, seems like two best that they could get

posted on 18/9/19

Actually not Umtiti as he’d be left

posted on 18/9/19

Koulibaly was immense last night but not sure they'd splash out north of £100m on a player who turns 29 in the summer, then again this is City we're talking about

If they bring in a decent partner for Laporte they'll be nigh on unstoppable

posted on 18/9/19

Difficult to see who else they could get though. Koulibaly still has a few years at the very top left. Skriniar possibly but don’t think he’d be worth it yet.

posted on 18/9/19

In fairness to City they rarely splash out huge individual sums, usually players around the £50m mark with scope to improve

Don't think they necessarily need a worldie as Laporte is already top class but will be interesting to see who go for, if it is someone like Koulibaly then I hope we're a fair few points ahead of them by Jan!

Might depend how next few weeks go, would like to see them struggle. Boring seeing them win all the time. If they struggle possibly more likely to go big in Jan.

Always likes of Diop/Dias they could go for too. Hoping Garcia gets his chance and does well

posted on 18/9/19

I'd definitely like to see them struggle! Guess the problem is they tend to be so dominant that teams are more concerned with not conceding 4/5 then having a go at them, hoping there will be a few more teams like Norwich that have a pop

Wouldn't surprise me if they went for a player like that, young with potential who Pep can shape into his preferred style. Always nice to see academy players get a chance but seems less likely these days, Foden still barely getting a kick although maybe not that surprising given their midfield options

Just realised Ndombele is out of my next game, will finally give me a chance to mix up my midfield and maybe spring a surprise or two on fan

posted on 18/9/19

Yea as good as he makes Foden out to be, he’s very much a cheque book manager. The young players he does shape are already established and bought. Difficult to see Foden ever get in that first team with their options. Must be looking at Sancho wishing he’d gone elsewhere to play regularly as doesn’t look like it’ll happen any time soon.

You say surprise but I think I could guess where you’d go without Ndombele!

Haven't seen much of Diallo but hoping he gets a run out tonight, will be good to see him up against a top side like Real Madrid.

Its a shame PSG look to be missing their main men as it could of been a cracker with everyone fit

RIP Fernando Ricksen

Wasn’t nice watching him practically waste away suffering from MND, a horrible disease

Ricksen Really horrible disease. But at least no more misery for him or family

At least I no longer have a few very likely red card candidates

Not that I can remember if it is just drawn pot luck or with impact on game/players

Wolves v Liverpool

Despite Liverpool having one of the best forward lines in the league, I thought the back four of Wolves and Allan would cope fairly well with them, and the same at the other end. The midfield battle was won by neither and possession was pretty much 50/50

Chances were few and far between due to two solid defences and neither midfield dominating enough, when chances came both GKs were pretty comfortable with the efforts on goal

Wolves 0 - 0 Liverpool
MOTM - Allan

Arsenal v Bournemouth

Arsenal have improved and with Aubameyang up top they are always going to get goals, especially v a fairly inexperienced back 4, Bournemouth are an exciting team with lots of talent, but just felt today the Arsenal line up and set was just a bit too much for the Bournemouth team, they did score with good movement from Cunha and Malcom combing, but Aubameyand struck twice in the second half to give the home side all three points

Arsenal 2 - 1 Bournemouth
Aubameyang x 2 ( Pepe, Isco)
Cunha(Malcom)
MOTM - Aubameyang

Portsmouth v Tottenham

I like both set ups, but fear Sessegnon would struggle v Bernardo, and this was this case as the latter set up Icardi beautifully early on in the game, the attacking set up of Portsmouth pushed the Spurs team back as a whole and they failed to capitilise on their lead, Jovic found the net early in the second half through a penalty after being hacked down by Umtiti, to even up the scores, and it was soon to be Red for Umtiti as another rash challenge this time on Martial who had the better of him for pace, this was on 72 mins,, Spurs went to 441 but despite being a man down, they held on to a take a good point

Portsmout 1 v 1 Tottenham
Jovic(Pen, 50)
Icardi(Bernardo, 11)
Umtiti 72
MOTM - Koulibaly

When reporters asked the 60-year-old Italian why he was smiling at Klopp, Ancelotti revealed: "Because I told him: 'Don't you worry, if you lose in Naples, then you end up winning the Champions League.'"

I'd take a punt on Stones - Verschaeren + Söyüncü?
