Chelsea and City coming up!!!

Arteta not got the bottle to bench him, total fraud.

Need to stop playing him. Another expensive mistake - does more damage on the pitch.

I wonder if any of his fanboys still thinks he's world class...

Neither are particularly great, let's be honest

Problem is we are approaching these situations from a weak position, if most are being honest when he got his new deal everyone was begging him to stay, he'd just had a good season and played a big hand in winning the Cup. Now whether or not his form has dropped off because he's past it now or he's just in a comfort zone or maybe the tactics being employed its hard to say.

We should not be in a position where we will do anything to keep a player, same happened with Ozil. If they want to stay they will, we shouldn't have to hand over 300 grand a week.

Why is Bellerin starting games:

Starting Laca and Auba makes no sense

Saliba is a better defender that Holding and Chambers, yet farmed out on loan.

The only positive is Lokonga

We are in SERIOUS trouble. Auba is done at this level. He has been a VERY clinical finisher throughout his career but offers very little elsewhere. Now he can't finish his dinner, he is really a passenger and should be dropped. Saka, ESR, Pepe behind Lacazette should be our starting lineup. Auba as a sub and we pray he gets his MOJO back.

Lokonga...I hope he keeps developing. He seems a gem...aware of his surroundings, good vision and a good passing range with both feet.

Yes, Mr White played well.

AO, I agree there is a lot of revisionism going on from Arsenal supporters - literally no one amongst us was seriously suggesting we sell him.

However, this is where strong management, and analysis from coaches and others behind the scenes needs to come into play. How many times did we moan about players sold by Wenger, even when for decent money, only for it to look a shrewd decision 12 months later.

The way things look to be going, the club should’ve sold Auba after the FA Cup win, reinvested what we got for him in a striker to back up Lacazette, who would this season hopefully be replacing him.

It wouldn’t have been an easy ride for Arteta, or Edu, but they are paid to make these tough decisions.

Looks like they got it wrong.

*sell him before he signed his new contract...

I have been calling out Auba for a while. You can't have a modern day striker who can't head the ball, can't link up and a striker who offers fack all if he isn't scoring

He should not be starting next week against Brentford

Speak for yourself, not everyone was begging him to stay, those with eyes could see he's a very one dimensional player, doesn't have the skill to play in tight spaces, only really capable of affecting the game if the ball is played in behind defence where he can run on to it, even then he fluffed many chances. Apart from that he's very predictable and easy for even average defenders to shut down.

I've been saying this long before he signed his new contract but I kept hearing he was world class because he scores goals you would expect any decent striker to score in a team like Arsenal.

Paelladyce has ruined him. Needs to get out of Arsenal to a team that can actually attack.

He might not have been world class but he's goal scoring record was world class nobody can deny that. If he had left at that point would you of trusted this lot to get an adequate replacement I certainly wouldn't of.

Goal scoring record lol, this is exactly the type of thinking thats led to him getting a new contract. If people actually watch the game and stop adding so much weight to stats then maybe an average player wouldn't fly over their heads.

As I said he scores goals you would expect any decent striker to score in a top team like Arsenal, his goals rarely ever leave you thinking 'how did he do that'. Any decent striker should be getting at least 20 goals per season at Arsenal, if anyone thinks that automatically means world class then they simply lack an understanding of the game...

If we break quickly, Auba is a very good and dangerous player to have. If we continue to play Xhaka in CM, take ages to progress the ball up the pitch and have to break down two banks of four, then it's a waste of time having him on the pitch. It's really that simple.

So Auba being sheet is Xhaka fault now

I’m kind of getting fed up with the excuses being made for him. Look at his individual game, He has had chance after chance put on the plate for him last season, he even missed an unbelievable sitter against Chelsea last week, so it looks as tho it’s continued on from last season. The guy has lost his sharpness, he’s clearly passed his peak, he’s easy to defend against, no strength, can’t hold the ball up, can’t link play. This is not a knee jerk observation it’s now a fact. We need a new cf and quick.

Tbh I thought that giving Auba a new contract would be cheaper than trying to find a replacement of similar quality and I still think that logic is sound because it's not like he's dropped off a cliff physically

He still seems to get the chances there's just no accounting for whatever is going on in his head that means he can't finish any of them

The frustrating thing is that with the nature of the predicament it feels like if he gets one goal he might kick on so it's tempting to play until that happens but it's just not happening at all so far

Doesn’t get that many chances now. Arsenal are one of the least creative teams in the league.
