I think this Chelsea team have a chance to win the league. On paper they have a better squad than City. Of course I’ll always want us to win it but I don’t see us at the level needed (hopefully we’re just warming up 😉)

Why are chelsea fans deluded? they musta been watching a different game than the rest of. Actually Taylor favoured Chelsea more..some of the free kicks were laughable . Lets not get into the 3 mins of stoppage time should have been at least 5. and further more. any fan who questions the Reece penalty and sending off are wilfully lying. It was 100% the correct call. Now what??

Go read the rules....ref was 100% correct...u may disagree with the rule but you cannot disagree with ref ...he applied the rule.

Btw...ur player got sent of because of the pressure liverpool applied to your defence...if u defended better then you wouldn't have to block the ball on the line with a hand. Have a word with your coach on defending set pieces

Full credit to both teams,I saw a very very good game, I said before the game ,whoever won or whatever the result, both of these two will be there at the end of the season.

Winning at Anfield isn't that much of a marker any more.

Red card for me is a farce. Hand by his side or certainly not in an unnatural position, block is made with his thigh as much as anything. I'm not even sure its a penalty. Taylor makes a huge mistake, after looking at the footage for a second.

I didn't think Reece James made a deliberate handball, wich is what he would have needed to do for a red card.

The rules have been changed to avoid this type of tripple punishment (red card, penalty and suspension).

Reece..100% STOPPED the ball going into the net WITH HIS HAND...red card and pen....thats the rule..accidental or not

I was a bit surprised by the ref's reaction. Judging from the tv footage, he barely glanced at the screen for a split second, saw only a freeze frame image of the incident, and immediately decided it was not only a penalty, but also a sending off.

The only explanation I can see for that is that he had blind faith in whoever was speaking to him from the VAR room. Any idea who the main VAR official was?

That's how I read it. Last season he'd have run the tape multiple times. Does the law say any contact with the hand in the box is a penalty and sending off, as that's all the freeze frame showed him.

I think both teams wanted to lay down a marker. We wouldve been desperate to show "write us off at your peril". I was at the game yesterday, might not have been able to see it on telly but trent was absolutely fuming at full time we hadnt done enough.

Both teams wanted that win. There will be begrudging respect between both sets of players in knowing both will be there or thereabouts come may.

why do you automatically assume that anyone having a pop at liverpool is a united fan? you do realise that the rest of the country hates you too?

Chelsea wont win league with Rom up top. He just isntbeffective against good teams. Ball bounces off him.

Liverpool should have won that game... If they can't beat 10-man Chelsea at home then we should question their ability to finish in top4 let alone win the league.

Aside from the stonewall pen the ref gave every 50 50 decision to chelsea.
