To be honest it's not too dissimilar to previous starts to the season under Gerrard. As good as last season was if we win on Sunday I think we're only 1 point worse off than we were last season, at the same stage in Europe and a stage further in the LC.
The disruption hasn't helped this season - so far have have had McGregor, McLaughlin, Goldson, Helander, Balogun, Barisic, Bassey, Patterson, Aribo, Roofe, Jack, Morelos, Kent, Hagi and Wright unavailable for key games. Given the scale of those issues I think being top of the league and 6 ahead of Celtic having won the first OF is a decent start. I don't think we can get much worse and would expect us to go up a gear when back to full quota.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Jack for me has been one of the biggest losses.
He is a great insurance policy for our defence.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I get he’s a big miss but he was injured most of last season anyway.
We’ve just had too many players below par
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Jack was key for us last season, he didn't get the injury until after we had won the league.
We've missed him a lot more than i thought we would and the sooner he is back the better but the real issue is 6/7 of the first team players have dropped their levels.
Aribo is probably the only one who deserves no criticism in that regard. Possibly Hagi.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That’s simply wrong. Jack started 13 out of the first 24 games. And he didn’t start in any of the games against Celtic, only starting 2 games in Europe.
He missed the majority of the season. He’s definitely a miss. But clearly not the difference between this season and last

I dont think Bassey has done much wrong. In fact I would go so far as to say he is possibly the only player that has improved since last season. He looks like he could quite easily be our regular first team LB.
Morelos is the strange one for me. He is playing 'ok' but he seems a bit too mellow, almost laid back. Its almost like hes forgotten he is .to be some wee perma raging bam.
He never really was that but he certainly seemed to have a wee bit more aggression about his all round play than he has had this season.
Hopefully 90 minutes against that wee pwick Porteous will liven him up again this weekend.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Bassey needs to improve his delivery a lot IMO, he gets himself into good positions so often with his desire, energy and strength but once he is there he never really picks anyone out, just throws it in.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
I agree, good energy, great desire but needs to refine his game before he's can really take the shirt from Barasic.
The quality Barasic has makes him for me the number 1 by quite a distance even if he's sometimes a schitebag that bails out of 50/50s or gets smaller going for a header.

We lost big names in Ajer, Edouard , Ely and Christie . ....Brown moving on helped
he inherited two shiete Goalkeepers which hes now addressed . One cost him already
No right backs - which hes adressed - Hes changed Anthony Ralston around !!...theres an actual player there now
he had to play Dane Murray at centre half for a CL qualifier
Hes now brought in two , who are performing well and will get better + Julian still to come back in .
Left back - shelved this for next window i hope . One still to be judged , hes also getting a tune from Monty there ..basically hes had to play an academy left winger at LB -
midfield - We can see the level of Mcgrgeor now looks greater than it was . He looks made to captain this team
Rogic turnbull & McCarthy will all be fine
Abada and Jota look brilliant additions- aged 19 and 22 so only going to improve
Kyogo - already looks the best , most exciting player in the SPFL
+ we still have Hollands top scorer to start his campaign
once Ange has his first XI out , or as near as with option from the bench ...then we can start to judge him
but i definitely can see snippets of what this team could become once players settle and once Ange can bring a few more players

Ct is implying once the injuries sort themselves out celtic should have a very good team to put out on the park.
Yet a good few bhoys on here are saying they have no chance of the title this season.
Why as Rangers themselves have been very average thus far.
Being serious for a second.
I think the League Cup is massive for him. Win that and the fans will get fully on board, he will get patience from the fans to build then. If he doesn't i could see the fans starting to turn, they need something to hang onto that suggests he can be the right man because the early optimism has evaporated with a string of bad results.
It's massive for Gerrard as well, really hoping for an OF final

defensively they are shocking IMO, juranovic doesnt seem the quality RB iv sen some celtic fans say he is, think celtic hve won 1 game that he has started in. Starfelt is gash every bit as poor as Simpson. CCV looks decent and taylor is terrible.

We took care of Celtic relatively easily in the first OF game with our 3rd choice GK having a cigar in the nets.
I don't think they are as good as is being made out TBH.
They've had one of the easiest starts to the season - mainly playing the diddy teams and find themselves 6 points behind us already.
Honestly - the longer Ange stay, the better.

I think Ange is capable enough. Not seen anything to suggest he is too much more than that.
Kyogo looks a great find and has had a terrific early impact.
Abada is young and has a decent goal return already. But he has been non existent in a few of the away games I have seen him in so there is definitely a lot of room for improvement.
I havent seen too much of Jota but he looks like a bit of a show pony who will be targeted by scotlands less cultured defenders. So it will be interesting to see how he takes to being Rooneyed up and down the pitch.
Satrfelt has looked like a bombscare from day 1. I am not sure he has done too much to convince folk otherwise.
Ange obviously has his history of fall outs in the past and if he thinks some of the press coverage he has had so far is 'weird' then he is in for a treat if Celtic fall much further behind Rangers.
He still looks pretty isolated and like he has the weight of the world on his shoulders when he is being interviewed. He deffo looks like he needs a good number 2....

defensively they are shocking IMO, juranovic doesnt seem the quality RB iv sen some celtic fans say he is, think celtic hve won 1 game that he has started in. Starfelt is gash every bit as poor as Simpson. CCV looks decent and taylor is terrible.

Ct is implying once the injuries sort themselves out celtic should have a very good team to put out on the park.
Yet a good few bhoys on here are saying they have no chance of the title this season.
Why as Rangers themselves have been very average thus far.

Ange sure has his cult following already.
Long may it continue.
He's a fat dosser.

Said it before.
There's a desperate straw clutching hope that Celtic somehow unearthed a diamond revolutionary before the rest of the world did because Eddie Howe unceremoniously dumped them.

Pretty much the nail on the head there.

(I will just leave that one out there)
