Jnr knew from young, so around this time of year at primary school he said “anyway Santa isn’t real”
Conversely a family friend kept the lie going for ages, until his lad was 13 when he had to talk to his partner and say “we have to tell him”
Lad started crying when they told him.. I was like woah..
13 😂😂😂😂😂
His peers will do it for you OP 👍🏻
My niece is a scientist. Refused to lie to her children. Told them Santa was fake. Caused a total sh*&t show with the kids in their class/school.
I don't know how I feel about it. I am leaning towards what they did is being the right or at least not a wrong move. You can still enjoy Santa even if you know it is fiction.
What No, its no no not true.....
Tune in next week to find out how to tell adults god isn’t real

Ive been having that discussion with admin2 about fake information or anti science on YouTube. That I'd happily see it deleted, but where do you draw the line. As religion is unscientific and act of faith, but deleting religious proclamation from YouTube is likely a violation of Human rights.
Anyone know how to tell their kids…?,
========
Yep.
Don't. Let someone else ruin that dream. If they ask you without already knowing the truth then say how St. Nicholas was absolutely real.
Generally avoid at all costs.
My son told me Santa's wasn't real when he was 6. He still likes the fun of mentioning Santa's at Christmas etc. Basically he still enjoys Santa's even though he knows he's not real.
No idea why it auto corrected to Santa's. I haven't even had a beer.
I found two selection boxes in a cupboard when I was 6. When I was 7 I had to wrap presents in local boozer for the little kids as a regular dressed up as Santa to dish up presents. That was the penny drop moment 🤣
Santa is more real than 90% of the people.on this site.
Figured it out myself, randomly decided at about 8 or 9 that i wanted to test if he was actually real by writing my list and posting it MYSELF and not showing it or giving it to my parents as can’t remember why but I had suspicions
Anyway, think I asked for an Xbox and a bike and Low and behold that Xmas I did not get what I asked for stopped believing in it after that
It's kinda nice for children but at the same time is pretty manipulative. The world is an amazing place as it is, stories can be magical as fiction (you don't need to believe they're true).
These fairy tales kids and sometimes even adults are semi tricked into fully believing like the tooth fairy, father Christmas, god/religion, Arteta being a good manager etc are all potentially damaging in the long term as reality bites... Or worse doesn't.
I'd be tempted not to bother with the father Christmas stuff and just explain it's a regular made up story if I was ever in that position

Yeah same, can still enjoy the Santa / Father Christmas stuff, and do so without lying to kids.
When I found out my parents roped me in to keeping it a secret for my littler siblings, and as reward I got to eat the mince pie we left out. My dad got the whisky, though.

The problem is when kids think they are bad somehow when their peers get an Xbox and they get a Lego set. But it's because their parents have lost their job or something. It's a bit rotten
Don't really remember if I ever 'found' out really, don't think my folks ever wasted their time elaborating on it too much.
I do remember one time having a gift from Santa though, some little handkerchiefs with nursery rhymes on, not sure how old I was, maybe 5 or 6. Dunno why they did it that year, maybe they didn't like me growing up.

Yeah that's another harsh consequence but I guess if a kid was instead just known for being poor they'd still get grief from some kids (kids can just be very harsh unfortunately)

My missus brother is ultra-religious to the level of it being cult-like and she was telling me how he wouldn't even accept gifts with Santa on, Dinosaurs etc and would just give them straight back because it was wrong. So pathetic. He even stopped his kids being bridesmaids for our wedding because I wasn't religious

what a man
It's likely to go that way I guess. Some people have just taken it so far they can't face the shame/embarrassment of reality.
It's why I'm iffy with the father Christmas thing, surely it's physiologically damaging if a kid gets too old or forms a major attachment to the myth
