I must admit I have pretty well stood at every Spurs game at the new stadium since it opened, and I am aged 73. I am old school, so enjoy standing but not everyone of my age will enjoy having to stand for 90 minutes. Problem is if everyone else stands, then if you want to watch the match, then you have to stand as well.

Weird, you were 70 8 years ago.....

The year is 2051, Sandy should be 108, he's 73 again for the 53rd year running and still posting on 606 with his first half of the season Spurs are the best and will win the league and his second half of the season Spurs are awful and need a new manager.

I think this will work well with English fans now. We have come a long way since the days of English fans forcing their way into grounds without a ticket, meaning it is a lot easier to manage. There is almost zero chance of that kind of thing happening these days. English fans are actually very civilised nowadays.

I am going to take this out of context and frame it on my wall as a serious post.

Will that be hung in the English or French section?

Yes

To be fair it seems that the away fans generally stand throughout the match anyways in English football by their own choice of course so this "standing room" thing is not as big as we're making it out to be in my humble opinion.

They’ve put a standing section next to the away fans at OT, it’s small though.

I’m sure there’s already a section the opposite corner too, for the home fans.

Great game, open and all action. A draw would be lovely.

Fantastic half of football that. Shows what you can do against any team if you go at them.

Let's hope the managers don't spoil things at half time with defensive changes!

Prem it should have been 3-2 to Chelsea soon after but Mount missed a big chance

Well, we can still get 3rd... whether we will is a different matter... but as it stands, if we won our games in hand, we'd be back in the mix with about 3-4 points to make up.

posted on 2/1/22

I think 3rd in the premierleague is still up for grabs but realistically looking at Chelsea squad 4th should be the target as we lost so many points already.

If this ends in a draw then Man City fans will be celebrating and those chasing for CL spots will be as well. Looks like Ole made Man City run close last year afterall!

posted on 2/1/22

The only way I could see United getting third is if Chelsea or Liverpool 'give up' in the PL as they're too far behind City. The title has been beyond us for a while (if we even had a shout at all) but for LFC and CFC who were expected to last the pace they may get a period of disappointment.

It's very unlikely though and we're in a hell of a battle even for fourth.

tbh, i always thought the talk of Chelsea being contenders was way off... Their recent form is worse than ours, if they lose tonight, i think they'll get drawn into the top 4 race

Unfortunately Ji, you have been watching the same United as me, so know that is winning the games in hand will be a tall order in itself let alone maintaining that form.

It could happen but Ralf is going to have to make more changes than we have seen of late.

posted on 2/1/22

I've also watched enough of Spurs, Arsenal, West Ham and now Chelsea to know they can have poor runs of form too... I think it'll be closer than you imagine, but time will tell
