if he stays fit and helps you win the league it's a great signing, but he needs to do both to justify 2 million for 4 months imo.

See I was thinking that at first as well. Then it dawned on me that, in the same timeframe, we'd be spunking roughly the same cash on the combined wages of Barkas, McCarthy, Soro, Bolingoli and Ajeti ... who I'd wager will together spend less time on the park than Ramsey, and be of considerably less quality in the unlikely event they do play.

Overall pretty happy with our window though, bar the glaring lack of a half-decent LB, which continues to astound me TBH.

how much of ramseys wage are rangers paying, how much are those players combined wage accumulate to? I strongly suspect they wont be equal !

i think Ajeti, Mccarthy and Barkas wages are roughly 40-45k week combined which will be close to what we are paying for Ramsey

The fee for Ramsey not rumoured to be £2m? (£2.5m in other reports) ... for 26 weeks (6 month loan), that would be £77k a week (albeit there's only about 17-18 weeks of playing time left this season). No way McCarthy joined us as a free agent from the Prem for less than £40k pw IMO ... so I'd reckon the 3 of our guys you mentioned would be nearer the £60k pw mark combined, which is why I lumped in Soro and Bolingoli as 2 other wastes of money as well.

to be fair is all if and buts. All will be revealed with what he is able to do on the pitch. If we win the legue its a masterstroke. If he in injured and doesnt feature is waste (more so than on barkas, ajeti etc).

Regardless of anything it ha injected enthusiasm into rangers squad and gave everyone in scotland something to talk about

If he remained in Italy he would have had some clause kick in that extends his contract and as one if their highest earners they want him out. Told Ramsey to basically find a club, any club and he ha chosen the one most appealing to him.

Maybe from ramseys point of view it would be easier to breka into rangers team than some EPL teams and in turn look good and get himself a good move on the bounce?

I would imagine he is looking at keeping his place in the Wales squad, and playing for team like Rangers who have the ball a lot offers him the chance to show case his skills a lot better than some dross in the EPL

Regardless of form I’d imagine his place in the Wales side is secure anyway, both him and Bale if they are fit they are in, no matter what’s going on at club level. I’d say it was more picking the club he felt he could get the most playing time so he could be in the best nick possible (if fit) and either earn a permanent move or attract another club where he could do the same next year.
Quality player a few years ago but has shown nothing at Juve and a horrendous injury record (think he’s played 98 mins all season and nothing for months), but if he is on the park and is 60% the player he was at arsenal then he’ll be a massive addition.
