We will regroup over the next few days... and pulverise Hull on Tuesday who are playing on Saturday as well.

Its the fans who are holding this together. If it wasnt for them (us) Wayne would surely have cut his ties

All who can go to games should try to go and sing our hearts out, not just for the manager but for the players and staff who all deserve huge credit. Also for ourselves, to show that we are defiant, that no external forces can put the slightest dent in our loyalty, in fact they make it stronger. They won't break our spirit, no matter what they chuck at us. This is the worst time in our entire history. One way or another we have to find a way through it. One fine day this will be behind us, we have to believe that.

I've said this before but I need to say it again - PROUD, PROUD, PROUD!!! Proud of Rooney and co, proud of the team and proud of the fans who never cease to amaze me.

Just a few observations. It was definitely a red card. Holmes' goal a pure fluke. Alsop could have done better before the second goal. A fitter Sibley may have scored when he worked himself through on goal and then wouldn't that have been interesting! Buchanan excellent as a centre-back and yes, I have seen him play there for the 23s. Byrne fantastic, Ebosele great - I could go on and it's a bit unfair to single individuals out for praise. For that reason they were ALL men of the match! Finally, praise for WR who has been messed around right royally by someone and yet he still manages to maintain a dignified calm.

Start of the second half I thought we looked good Bielik playing ahead of Knight n Thompson n Lawrence n Sibley on tut sides. Then when Cashin came on we invited them onto us. I don't think we had many options though, n continuing that shape wouldn't have been possible for the rest of the game. Bielik tired too. Hats off to Knight, Thompson, Byrne and Festy for their running. Buch's for his centre back cameo. We play with that effort and determination I think there'll be a fair few more wins. Whether it's enough or not is maybe immaterial. Inspirational stuff no matter what happens.

Morning after view :

Morning all....and greetings from a very cold and windy Whitby.

Well, as soon as I saw the line up last night - that due to injuries we were down to the bare bones. The EFL have dealt us a bad hand and no doubt they were rubbing their hands with glee after 3 minutes. We were truly at destination F'd. I agree with you guys that it was a clear red card. That said, Stearman is not a dirty player, he was just put into a situation where he had to dive in.

I didn't think Udders were anything special - they just had more in their locker than we did.....when you're able to bring on a player of Rhodes calibre as Sub then you're in a better place than we currently are. That said I think the guys played heroically and agreed, a fitter Sibley would have put that one away - which would have made it an interesting encounter.

I do think in hindsight we should not have brought Cashin on as it reduced our impact in midfield and did invite Udders to bombard us. Holmes shot, had it not hit Bielik would have flown over the bar instead of looping up and over Allsop in a crazy fashion. Yes Allsop could have maybe done better with the 2nd.....but all in all he had a good game. But it's water under the bridge now. We have to win our encounters against those teams nearer us in the league....so time now to re-group, get players fit and work on the game....as we go again v Hull on Tuesday....UTR

.....I should have added in my comments the Derby fans who were just brilliant again. Well done all those who were there...

I think there are too many sendings off in football and that it spoils games unnecessarily. The way the law is phrased at the moment we can’t complain about Stearman’s red card but I still think it’s a bit harsh. Had he been shown a yellow we might have said he was a bit lucky but nobody would have said it was an outrageous decision.

Apparently Kellyman, a local lad, didn’t want to leave and wanted to play for Derby County.

How is it possible that a 16 year old kid doesn’t get a choice in where he plays and has to move away from home?

I can understand if the parents see an opportunity for their little starlet and are willing to support with moving home or travelling etc. but that doesn’t seem to be the case here?

He may not have wanted to leave but he (or whoever) still signed the forms.

Anyway, he's only 16 ... he can come back as a free in 3 years!

I expect the conversation went along the lines of telling him that to give the club 600K in its time of greatest need should outweigh his personal desire to play for Derby. Also we are not allowed to offer any player a professional contract and at the end of the day players are professionals not fans. They need to go where the paid work is.

I wonder who had that conversation with him, Vidal ?
It appears that it wasnt the manager of the football club ?

How long do you reckon it takes them to 'earn' 600k, Scouse ?

posted on 3/2/22

Well it would have been the administrators. They run the club and make decisions on income and expenditure. I am as frustrated as everyone else but they are not Derby fans, not even football fans. Their duty is only to the creditors. So I understand the decision, I just don't understand the lack of communication with the manager. It's just a lack of courtesy. I hope, I really hope, that they aren't looking at the size of his wage and thinking that if he were to walk they could save quite a chunk of money, and so annoying him might not be the worst thing to do.

But I also don't think that turning our ire onto the administrators is helpful. This what the EFL want, to deflect attention from them. They are the real problem here. Had they done their job properly the administrators would not need to make these decisions.

Hard to say, but when you receive documents that show a junior clerk is being charged at a minimum if £100/hr (the lowest grade), not long.
