At the end of the day I highly doubt Auba would've been binned had he been performing on the field.
It's the same with Arteta though, the ultra disciplinarian approach would be considered great if the team was performing. Ferguson used to have his henchmen follow players around and drag them out of parties back in the day.
The problem for Arteta, just like Auba is that our results and performances have been poor (to put it kindly) for the most part and it's hard to justify his methods so far.
Most clubs would've already sacked him a while ago

what standards have you got you little nobody? if you are such a longstanding fan then you would know that every club goes through tough times now and again.
I bet arteta is gutted he doesn't reach your high standards but I like what he is doing at the club and I can see a plan for the future even if you can't. George Graham did the exact same thing by promoting young players who felt connected to the club and outing the under performers like Ozil and Auba. He also built from the back which again is exactly what Arteta is trying to do.
In response to some of the posts above:
Our form was good in December. If you want to talk about form, look at January. More red cards than goals. 3 losses and 2 draws...one of those draws was home to BURNLEY who are bottom of the league and the other was away to Liverpool - but we lost the tie. We also lost to Nottingham Forest guys! There was a link posted to see our form https://thefishy.co.uk/formtable.php?table=1. I dont care about form. If we had beaten Man City and maybe Burnley and even won one of legs against Liverpool but lost the tie - the form would be even better but the results would still be bad - out of 2 cups in the same month although it would have positioned us better in the league. However, we have seen Arteta have great runs but at the end finish 8th two seasons in a row and go out of the FA cup (twice i think) at the first time of asking and lose with a whimper in semi finals (League cup and Europa). Form counts for nothing if you dont have something to show for it at the end (trophies or showing significant improvement in the league).
Top 4 is a must or he should be fired (he wont get top 4 and wont get fired). I say a must because next year, you probably will have a stronger Spurs with Conte, a better United (they cant be as bad as they have been this year), Newcastle and Villa may be more competitive and yo have Leicester who have good recent league finishes as well as West Ham. If we dont finish top 4, which good players do you think we will be able to get?? Especially with a manager and club now who are known to ostracize players (it is no coincidence). we still dont know what Ozil did. We dont know what Auba did. We dont know what Saliba has done to not get a chance. AMN has been desperate to leave even though Arteta and the club have stopped it happening. Crap like Nketiah want to leave. We dont know what Guendouzi did (and if it was choke Maupay, Xhaka has choked opponents and is still here). Torreira wanted to stay and got booted. You cannot tell me that all those players are bad eggs - but they all want out. No team ever has 7 or 8 bad eggs (we also heard there was a clique with Kolasinac, Ozil, Sokratis and Mustafi - which I dont buy). Yes they were not the quality, but to claim they were bad eggs....something does not add up. To me, it smacks of a manager who cannot take any conflict and runs away from any problems and in this case, gets the players out. Coupled with an inexperienced DoF and others near him, there is no one strong enough to tell him that HE has to change. HE has to find a way to extract performances out of talented players who need different management. Arteta seems to only want players who do his bidding...that ruins any creativity and shuts down different opinions...and that is not what football is about. Players should not be robots to do the manager's bidding only.

Ozil was already underperforming and being left out before Arteta turned up.
Aubameyangs form was shocking, missing sitters, missing important penalties. Add his off-field attitude, what else would any manager do?
Guendouzi, not good enough on the pitch forhis attitude.
Torreira was literally begging to go back to Italy as he was "homesick" almost as soon as he got here.
Wenger was way too soft, Emery was openly mocked by the squad. The squad needing a massive shake up and that is what Arteta is doing. We are seeing more of a core of professionals.

what standards have you got you little nobody? if you are such a longstanding fan then you would know that every club goes through tough times now and again.
I bet arteta is gutted he doesn't reach your high standards but I like what he is doing at the club and I can see a plan for the future even if you can't. George Graham did the exact same thing by promoting young players who felt connected to the club and outing the under performers like Ozil and Auba. He also built from the back which again is exactly what Arteta is trying to do.

Those young players in the George Graham era were able to challenge the likes of Liverpool Graham signed in 1986. Arsenal won the league cup in 1987 followed by League titles in 1989 and 1991 . Also the first side to win both domestic cups in 1993 both vs Sheff Wed).
The Cup Winners Cup in 1994. George Graham had a winning mentality. I hope Arteta is able to emulate something similar

Winning a trophy is hit or miss. You seem to forget that he won the FA cup AND finished 8th. We beat City in that run...great...but play that game 10 times and City win it 9 times. Birmingham City beat us in the League cup final..whopdee do da.
The mark of progress is the league position...winning trophies is great but long term, that FA cup does nothing for us at all. Nothing. It does not help us attract talent. It has not helped the team kick on. And that same coach has not progressed in the FA cup since and has finished 8th and managed to annoy multiple players at the same time. If you are happy with the past 2.5 years...hey good for you. However, as a supporter who expects MUCH more from Arsenal, it is not good enough. The past ten years have not been good enough.
So why did you mean such about losing in the cups??

At the end of the day I highly doubt Auba would've been binned had he been performing on the field.
It's the same with Arteta though, the ultra disciplinarian approach would be considered great if the team was performing. Ferguson used to have his henchmen follow players around and drag them out of parties back in the day.
The problem for Arteta, just like Auba is that our results and performances have been poor (to put it kindly) for the most part and it's hard to justify his methods so far.
Most clubs would've already sacked him a while ago

Our form was good in December. If you want to talk about form, look at January. If we had beaten Man City and maybe Burnley and even won one of legs against Liverpool but lost the tie - the form would be even better but the results would still be bad - out of 2 cups in the same month although it would have positioned us better in the league. However, we have seen Arteta have great runs but at the end finish 8th two seasons in a row and go out of the FA cup (twice i think) at the first time of asking and lose with a whimper in semi finals (League cup and Europa). Form counts for nothing if you dont have something to show for it at the end (trophies or showing significant improvement in the league).
Top 4 is a must or he should be fired (he wont get top 4 and wont get fired). I say a must because next year, you probably will have a stronger Spurs with Conte, a better United (they cant be as bad as they have been this year), Newcastle and Villa may be more competitive and yo have Leicester who have good recent league finishes as well as West Ham. If we dont finish top 4, which good players do you think we will be able to get?? Especially with a manager and club now who are known to ostracize players (it is no coincidence). we still dont know what Ozil did. We dont know what Auba did. We dont know what Saliba has done to not get a chance. AMN has been desperate to leave even though Arteta and the club have stopped it happening. Crap like Nketiah want to leave. We dont know what Guendouzi did (and if it was choke Maupay, Xhaka has choked opponents and is still here). Torreira wanted to stay and got booted. You cannot tell me that all those players are bad eggs - but they all want out. No team ever has 7 or 8 bad eggs (we also heard there was a clique with Kolasinac, Ozil, Sokratis and Mustafi - which I dont buy). Yes they were not the quality, but to claim they were bad eggs....something does not add up. To me, it smacks of a manager who cannot take any conflict and runs away from any problems and in this case, gets the players out. Coupled with an inexperienced DoF and others near him, there is no one strong enough to tell him that HE has to change. HE has to find a way to extract performances out of talented players who need different management. Arteta seems to only want players who do his bidding...that ruins any creativity and shuts down different opinions...and that is not what football is about. Players should not be robots to do the manager's bidding only.

Ozil was already underperforming and being left out before Arteta turned up.
Aubameyangs form was shocking, missing sitters, missing important penalties. Add his off-field attitude, what else would any manager do?
Guendouzi, not good enough on the pitch forhis attitude.
Torreira was literally begging to go back to Italy as he was "homesick" almost as soon as he got here.
Wenger was way too soft, Emery was openly mocked by the squad. The squad needing a massive shake up and that is what Arteta is doing. We are seeing more of a core of professionals.

what standards have you got you little nobody? if you are such a longstanding fan then you would know that every club goes through tough times now and again.
I bet arteta is gutted he doesn't reach your high standards but I like what he is doing at the club and I can see a plan for the future even if you can't. George Graham did the exact same thing by promoting young players who felt connected to the club and outing the under performers like Ozil and Auba. He also built from the back which again is exactly what Arteta is trying to do.

Those young players in the George Graham era were able to challenge the likes of Liverpool Graham signed in 1986. Arsenal won the league cup in 1987 followed by League titles in 1989 and 1991 . Also the first side to win both domestic cups in 1993 both vs Sheff Wed).
The Cup Winners Cup in 1994. George Graham had a winning mentality. I hope Arteta is able to emulate something similar

Yes, he won a trophy. In any other situation, we look at that as that new manager bounce... and it's looking like that's what it was since he hasn't gotten close since.

Winning a trophy is hit or miss. You seem to forget that he won the FA cup AND finished 8th. We beat City in that run...great...but play that game 10 times and City win it 9 times. Birmingham City beat us in the League cup final..whopdee do da.
The mark of progress is the league position...winning trophies is great but long term, that FA cup does nothing for us at all. Nothing. It does not help us attract talent. It has not helped the team kick on. And that same coach has not progressed in the FA cup since and has finished 8th and managed to annoy multiple players at the same time. If you are happy with the past 2.5 years...hey good for you. However, as a supporter who expects MUCH more from Arsenal, it is not good enough. The past ten years have not been good enough.
