Committed the cardinal sin in modern F1 - didn't hand the title to Hamilton.
(Well he tried really really hard to at least, just Hamilton didn't play his part).
I am big fan of Max obviously, and I cannot stand that arrogant fake caaaant Hamilton. Max could have wrapped up the title sooner and with a clear gap if certain incidents had been judged more fairly. Hamilton deserves all the misery in world, however, the way Max won Abu Dahbi still doesn't sit well with me. He is a deserved World Champion, but should not have ended like this.

Ironically enough, the controversial decision massively benefited Hamilton, as now there's some faux doubt over Verstappen's title.
Had Masi done his job, they'd have had to find a new excuse as to why Hamilton was cheated.

If Max was in the same position, he would have done the same thing, probably an even dangerous manoeuvre, the guys the more reckless than Maldonado. Lewis might be a bit of a weirdo, but he's far more of a complete driver than Max, probably the greatest F1 driver ever. Max is a bit of a self entitled tw@t who thinks every driver must move out of his way because he won't.
The fact that FIA did every thing in their power to handicap Merc last season with the rules that clearly benefited Red Bull with higher rake, and they still just about scraped a drivers championship says it all. Still lost the constructors and Merc had the useless Bottas too.
