Gawn the Germans - stepping up to the plate

We tend to forget that Hatate and Maeda arrived after finishing a full season in Japan and then travelling half way round the world to settle into the salubrious Glasgow city. I’m surprised that anyone is surprised that they are starting to look off the pace

Rogic eh? The man we were all happy to see return to Australia nearly two years ago because he was getting slow and struggled for 90 minutes. And here we are today composing that etc etc.

Abada is learning his trade. We just returned from the Arctic circle on Friday morning.

Hibs put up a massive battle and threw themselves at everything. I though Porteous had a great game.

Wasn’t a great watch but here we are 3 points ahead and a huge gd advantage.

Who’s have thought 6-7 months ago.

2 draws and 18 wins out of our last 20 league games is title winning standards.

We absolutely won a watch with Rangers dropping a humongous clanger from 2-0 up at home. That was a huge chance for them to absolutely batter 'Well and put a real marker down. They won't keep missing all those chances forever though, so we need to seriously wake the feck up with our own performances. Points can be dropped in any football match, but our recent levels are nowhere near where they were. Kyogo missing is obviously huge, but there's more to it than that. Maybe the intensity of Ange's training is taking its toll? It certainly seems to have finished Forrest as a player. Very telling that we're desperate for a goal, and he doesn't come on. In fact, it was pretty odd that Ange only used 1 sub. I know the bench was pretty bare, but it was obvious from early on we were toiling, so anything would have been worth trying in the last 20-25 mins, surely?

Yeah a huge relief yesterday, would have well taken coming out the weekend with no damage done points and GD wise at the start of it.

One game at a time. Hopefully we get out this form rut now.....always hit a bad patch at some point......hopefully this is ours and we get away with any more dropped points.

It's mental how much we build up Livi away btw, we should be going and pumping them. It's understandable I guess though given the results.

on a different note, Ukraine are now calling for any foreign volunteers to fight, they say they will arm them should they choose to fight.

UK’s Foreign Secretary has also backed this and confirmed that now terror charges will be put to any that go and will be fully supported.

Aye, that's 2 weekends in a row we've been chasing a goal and he can't get on, tells you all you need to know. Thought the squad was looking strong a few weeks ago but Ange obvs does't have faith in the subs to do the job. Thought Bitton should have been on for Hatate

Am sensing you might disagree?

Anyway. Let’s put this all into perspective.

I think it’s fair to say that we are the ones still smirking

Bitton is a player who shores up defences and very seldom creates or scores goals. Squad player at best.

Aye squad player that was utilised to effect last weekend.

It would be against the law I'm sure for us to take up arms v Russia as far as I'm aware the UK is not at war with Russia.

well Truss has said they will not face terror charges if they go and fight

aparantly a separate subdivision is being formed of foreigners entitled the International Legion for the Territorial Defense of Ukraine. I imagine this is to bypass laws for going to fight?

Belarus ready to join Russia?

Can’t see that happening at all. fwiw they’ll have looked at the invasion so far and thought “fwck that”. Belarus have been hanging onto Putin for years with their rhetoric and now they see nothing but pretty much a united front against him.

If Putin has managed anything so far it’s that he’s likely made NATO harden its stance.

Everyone thinks that the financial hits to Russia matter for nothing yet todays the rouble has tumbled by over 30%, their banking and international payment systems are being cut off, interest rates have soared to 20%, purchases of their exports have fallen off a cliff and for the first time they are seeing the West start to finally prepare to cease dependence on Russian oil and gas. Their ships of goods are starting to be prevented from offloading and all of Europe is increasing its defence budgets significantly.

Some future they have and it’s already started. Riots in cities across Russia and the Ukraine is ensuring that media with Russian dead and captured gets past the Kremlin blackout.

No I think Belarus will be watching this quite closely as will China. The rest of the world know that they cannot let Putin win.
