Snowflake's trying too cancel putin just cos they dont agree with him pc gone mad
I can’t shift the feeling that, yes, he really would. I don’t have the answers but fear that a no-fly zone would essentially be a declaration of war. The horror in Ukraine will go on but we have to hope it grinds Russia down and there’s some kind of end to it soon.

I did think that but I really don’t think Putin wants a war with the west. He would certainly lose either way - conventionally or nuclear.
He has to get done for War Crimes. Makes me think it will escalate, but not to Nukes.
You’ve changed your tune.
I’m not in any way, shape or form shocked by that revelation, however.

It’s just hard seeing this all happen with no one to help them. And while I wouldn’t bet my mortgage on Putin not launching nukes I can’t help but think this is an occasion where the gamble is worth it. Call his bluff and save Ukraine. Just start with a no fly zone and see if that brings him to the negotiating table. He may well be counting on that in his calculations that eventually the west would step in and he would at least get some part of Ukraine.
Just send the US fleet to the Baltic sea....the Royal Navy fleet to the the Mediterranean and 300,000 NATO tropps to "exercise " in Ukraine....and watch Putin sht himself!!
Now your move putin....

Yes Putin would use nukes and we won’t set up a no fly zone, that would be a moronically dumb thing to do right now. It’s horrific what’s happening and it might get even worse but that isn’t the way to go about trying to resolve it.

I think it depends on what happens. If a few Russian planes are shot down I don’t see him nuking anyone. The risk/reward element isn’t worth it.
Putin at the moment, being unstable in mind, would authorise using a tactical nuke if pushed in a corner by NATO to make a show of how hard he is feeling.
I have no idea what the chain of command and hieracrchy is in the Kremlin for lanchiung a nuke but I would suggest that Putin has more than one finger on 'the button'. However, if it involves other people then the chances of it actually happening are substantially reduced.
Short range, yes. Long range, no chance. As soon as strategic nukes are used then it will single the start of WW3 and armageddon!
Putin is a loon, he's irrational, he's simply sabre rattling. Nuclear is nothing but a deterrent.
Easy to think in this day and age that no one would be dumb enough to use nukes, let alone a leader of an advanced country.
Then you remember Putins best mates with China 😣

Because we will not risk any form of retaliation, Nato will only get involved if there’s a direct assault on a Nato state. It’s horrendous for Ukraine and for them, it could get even nastier over the next week as Putin will keep to his escalate to de-escalate approach, but they were never going to implement a no fly zone.
There is hope though. The sanctions and the unity of thr West, as well as how they’ve done so far and the utter brilliance and heroism of both the Ukrainian army, their populace and Zelenskyy, does mean there is potentially short term and mid term possibilities to resolve this.
I think Putin is done, it’s just a question now of how much damage is done, particularly to Ukraine, before his downfall.
