I’m thinking it is something of a must win for us. Looking at the two sides remaining fixtures we have a far more difficult run in. It’s not far fetched to suggest City win all their games after us, so we really need to take points off them imo.

Personally I look at city's record in closing seasons out. If they are in the lead they will win every game til thr end imo.

I think it's must win for lfc. We have the harder fixtures and have to apply maximum pressure. 10 wins in a row. Can't do much more to apply pressure.

We've made a game city could lose into one they can't afford to lose.

City can draw. No issue.

City win and its over imo.

Lfc win and we then need to win well enough to ensure gd is on our favour. We could have a draw in our pocket.

Agree. It's a must not lose for us. A draw would be acceptable.

Just on the point about city closing seasons out, I'd say they only really had to do that once under pep and that was with us in 18/19. The other 2 hes won theyve had sewn up by feb.

That season they were out the champs league by end of quarters. I dont think thats happening this year, they will be in the final for me. Thats another thing to juggle. Appreciate they went to the final last year but again league was done and dusted.

Weve shown in 18/19 we can manage both. Advanced to final whilst rattling off what was it 11/12 wins on spin to finish season.

I honestly think points will be dropped by both even after sunday. We have some tough games but the stick out ones are at home. I back us in them everyday of the week. City have a couple of stinkers in wolves and west ham I believe. Thats for me why its not must win. Appreciate your points though.

We need to win for me. City fixtures after us are all winnable and we know they are capable of winning all the games remaining.

The CL games are crucial too. If the 2nd leg is in the balance then it will play a part especially against Atletico.

A win would be sensational but a draw would be fine.

We’ve got to win the game, can’t see City dropping points anywhere else this season!

A draw is not a bad result, however if we are to win the league we have to win this game.

Just bum them into submission please

. Perfect response Mellor.

Relating to your OP, It is going to be a massive fixture.

If Liverpool win, then considering the points gap that City had over Liverpool would then have been vanquished (with Liverpool not only catching up but overtaking City), then Liverpool will go on to win the title in my opinion.

If City win, then Liverpool will simply got at it again.

Regardless of the result, Liverpool currently have the psychological advantage. I do feel that City need the win a lot more than Liverpool do in this respect.

For me, a positive result for Liverpool and you’ll go on to win the title. A positive result for City, and it could still go either way.

Liverpool are a juggernaut at the moment, bit between the teeth, etc etc.

City win and its 4 points gap with 7 to go. That's a massive gap given its city and would require 2 city draws plus us gaining more gd.

Liverpool win and its a 2 point lead with min +6gd with 7 to go. 6 wins and 1 draw required. Games are tougher than city's but its on.

Draw and its 1 point difference with city-5 on gd so it's a straight race to the end where any city draw means Liverpool need 7 wins.

If city win next week I'd feel they have one hand on the trophy. 4 points in 7 games looking at their fixtures would be very difficult

Real tainted feeling about the season now. Knowing there’s dirty money in the game just makes it feel wrong.

When are you going to get that you’re despised on here, and very unwelcome?

Id say......if either side wins...that side also wins the league.

For me..if city dont win then i think we will win the league too..so a draw or win for liverpool and its our league imo.

Got to say id agree with moreinjured below. If you guys win I cant see anyway back from a 4 point deficit. Thats why its a must not lose for us.

There will defo be some twists along the way. I obviously hope im proved wrong but I cannot see us winning all our remaining games, that would mean 18 straight wins, cant see it. I think the champs league will play a part.

City beat us for me, but we’ll see.

anything but a win for liverpool and all the momentum thats been built up comes to a halt, not impossible to win the league, but it becomes a lot harder

hopefully trent is back, liverpool at full strength is tough for anyone to deal with
