Yorkshire have facked it but they have probably been saved by the rain in Birmingham. 23 run lead for Warks, they'll probably need to get that up to about 250 in a session and then give themselves 2 sessions to bowl Hampshire out. I mean they'll realistically have to declare at lunch whatever the lead.

I think Hain might be injured too so they are going to need something sensational from Sibley. Can he put himself in the window for an IPL contract?

Forecast looks okay so Warwickshire have 104 overs to save their bacon. They're not fully at the mercy of Vince and Hampshire though to contrive a result as Hampshire need a win for 2nd, a draw won't be enough. I can't see them helping Warwickshire out though due to the impact it would have on Yorkshire. If they were going for the title, it'd probably be different.

Liam Norwell is back for Warwickshire too which is good to see as he's another who has been on the fringes of England but injured for most of the season. Incredible how many have been out injured although Anderson, Broad and Robinson are our best 3, in England anyway.

Just watching some of the stream back as I was out and missed the last couple of hours. Poor Norwell looked exhausted yet just carried on bowling and was excellent. Stokes would have been proud of that, despite the dodgy LBW call for Gubbins which he did call out

The rest of the team should have carried him off, he looked like he was going to pass out but was literally running on adrenaline. Herculean effort.

I read he said he was complaining about cramp after the Barker wicket and asked Rhodes to switch him out only for Rhodes to basically tell him to f@ck off and push through it

poor bloke. How he kept charging in and bowling like he did I'll never know. He barely bowled a loose ball which considering how tired he must have been, and how close it was, is incredible.

I genuinely wouldn't be surprised to see him in the Pakistan squad.

A few unlucky to miss out like Masood, Duckett, Mullaney and Sam Cook but I think that's about right. Only Foakes from Surrey shows how strong their squad was that they didn't really have any outstanding individuals for the entire season. Although to be fair, plenty were on England duty throughout.

The County Season kicks off again today. It creeps up on you and I always forget how early it starts.

Lancashire vs Surrey is the big game of the week. Runners up vs champions of last year and very much two of the favourites again. Dom Sibley back at Surrey giving them a top 3 of Burns, Sibley, Pope.

A few modifications to the points scoring. A draw is now only 5 points rather than 8 in a bid to encourage positive cricket along with upping the runs total for batting bonus points. 250 is 1 point going up 50 runs to 450 for 5 points all inside 110 overs.

Title between Surrey, Lancs, Hampshire and Notts for me. Sadly I think Essex will be mid table at best. The bowling is good but the batting is so weak and very reliant on Cook. Desperately need Lawrence to step up this season.
